The ball is actually made of synthetic fiber and it may have a rubber covering to soften the impact. That said, it must still hurt very bad, especially worn in the nuts.

Hostel Strahov is 225 Czech Crowns (~11 USD) a night in a double room. It's right next to the event site. I've been there (2003), it's a prison, don't go there.

I just rented an apartment with a good location, a jacuzzi and a fireplace for 27€ a night.
