I have not made a net bag but I do make my own footbag golf drivers which from what I understand are about the same. I recommend a 12 panel (all pentagons) design as it is very round and there is not allot of seams. I would not go any less. You could go more but it will be more work for no real bene...

Not sure if people have seen this but you can get copper coated lead shot. I found it at precisionreloading.com it is a little bit more expensive than the regular lead shot ($36/10lb) but is non-toxic.
