Schrodinger's Life
What a fantastic, unexpected update. As I get older I seem to increasingly lose track of where my friends are. Somebody I'd see at a tournament every few months suddenly becomes somebody I haven't seen in several years. I'll sometimes read an old diary entry or watch an old video and be struck by th...

Bacony
Love the TPP. Definitely getting Francis Bacon vibes from it.
Bummer about the ankle injury. I rolled mine in early October and was completely out for almost 3 months. Here's hoping yours heals up faster.

My Fantasy Team 1 week in
NBA season has been overall fun so far. The biggest highlight for me has been seeing Durant back and looking as good as he did before his injury 1.5 years ago. I've only watched a couple games this year, but I've been keeping up with the video recaps and highlights. A few high profile injuries have ...

Re: 2021 Footbag Events
Great idea Dan. I imagine a lot of events will be moving targets as the world continues to navigate COVID.

Challenge drill
I've been air-shredding a lot the past couple months due to injury, and of course it's always stuff I can't do even when fully healthy. The other day I air-shredded blender-gyro blender repeat. I couldn't hit that if my life depended on it, but you are great at zooms so I thought I'd send it your way.

Hacky New Year!
Though my computer is broken at the moment, so I'm on the lookout for a new one. There are usually lots of good sales right after Christmas. I just got a new one after Thanksgiving, and there were some nice deals. Glad to hear Dyalan is alive and kicking. Not sure what the mood is in Australia rega...

Thank you!
Thank you Dante for making this happen. 2020 was such a batshit insane year, having Joulu happen was reassuring and comforting. Thank you to everybody who submitted videos! Shred-wise the Bear/Dustin one was my favorite. Content-wise Ivan's Salem documentary was amazing. I loved the format and feel ...

Re: Fantasy format
COVID is going to make it such an unpredictable mess. The traditional model for fantasy NBA is done with weekly head-to-head matchups. The idea is that each owner's team plays a similar number of games, meaning their players play a similar number of games, and therefore have equal opportuni...
1 year of Solitude
I'm coming up on a weird anniversary, which also coincidentally overlaps 2020 almost perfectly. The last time I played footbag with another person was December 28, 2019: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMtoEjnMPcU Over the course of a normal year there will be a handful of times footbaggers pass th...

My Fantasy Team
Here's my Fantasy team, in order of most expensive to least. 1. Harden ($64)- I wasn't planning on getting Harden, since the trade cloud uncertainty makes him a bit of a question mark. But at $64 I had to pull the trigger. This is a guy who has been #1 or #2 in points leagues for the past several...

Fantasy format
As I mentioned in the last post, I'm doing fantasy NBA again this season with Asmus and Tu. I contemplated not doing it, because COVID is going to make it such an unpredictable mess. But then I decided, fuck it why not. My next post I'll go over my draft, but before I do here are some observations a...

2020-2021 NBA Season
Hard to believe it, but the new NBA season starts in just 8 days! That's crazy, since the season ended only 64 days ago. I'm pretty excited for the new season, understanding fully that it's going to be a weird one. I'm also playing Fantasy NBA with Asmus and Tu, so that always makes things more inte...
2 months later, no changes
it's been over a month since my ankle sprain. It doesn't actively hurt anymore, but I also haven't made as much progress in my recovery as I would have hoped. I definitely still rely on footbag as my main source of exercise and stress relief, so going over a month without playing has taken a bit of...

Re: Worlds 2020 vs. Age 40 goals
Never updated this after Worlds. Online Worlds has been announced, which has impacted a bunch of my Age 40 goals. In my original list of Age 40 goals I actually had "dropless routine," but I took it out in later versions since I thought I'd have no opportunities to do a routine. That has obviously c...

Re: Joulukalenteri 2020
Yes, thank you to Dante for running this. Been enjoying the videos, and definitely enjoying the LOTD! Can't wait to heal back up and give some of them a shot sometime. Thank you to everybody who made and contributed videos. Love seeing this tradition continue
Quick updates
Thanks for the kind words everybody. It was cathartic for me to write. One thing that made Rippin's passing so tough, was he was both an icon of the sport AND a friend. Like, if I never met him in person, I'd still be struck by his death just because I'm an avid footbagger. This is the guy who inven...

Great videos!
Enjoyed all the submissions! Dustin definitely stood out across both videos with his creativity. Definitely inspired to mix up my own game once I start playing again. Thanks to Derek for running the video and increasing the amount of shred vids in our lives, especially during a time when we all need...
RIP Rippin'
Whenever I was lucky enough to be in a circle with Rippin' I never left. Not willingly at least. Sure, if I was on deck to compete or if I had a flight to catch then I would. Grudgingly. And I'd always soften the blow by looking forward to the next time I'd get to be in a circle with Rippin'. ...

Re: Japanese Footbag Champs 2020
Do you guys think an Asia- Pacific online tournament would have legs? I think the main challenge you'd have is communication. The Chinese players didn't have great English communication ability at Worlds 2017, so you'd probably need somebody bilingual to ensure word gets out and that rules are unde...
