Open footbag tricks list database
I'm working on building a local footbag website, and one of my goals is to have basic list of tricks translated to Hebrew.
I figured it would be easier to maintain this list in a form of a Database rather than a bunch of HTML pages or a sticky forum topic.
I already wrote a little working demo of it, but I'm writing to see if a database such as this already exists, which I can use or enhance before I'm putting more time into my own solution.
I'm betting footbag.org is using a database but I don't think that they'll let me use it, and the only other related project I've seen is Janis's, but it's not what I had in mind (http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.ph ... t=database).
If I am to develop my own database, I'm thinking of making it open, so it's hosted on one reliable host, and every other footbag site can access it and update it in its own language.
So what I'm asking is:
1) Is there already something like this I can use for my site?
2) If not, would any one else like to use it if it's well written?
3) Ideas for how to make this database better.
On #3 I already have some ideas I haven't seen anywhere yet:
Every trick will have a list of video links, every trick will have a list of all possible alternative names, and every trick will have a little tag saying in which language its written.
The database will be searchable not just by the normal parameters (trick name, # of adds), but also by number of dexes, if a trick is pdx or symp, by nickname, etc.
This is what I already have:
http://poisontaffy.com/tricksdb/edit.php <- Editor to add tricks to or edit tricks from the database (instructions on the bottom of the page)
http://poisontaffy.com/tricksdb/ <- a list of tricks in the database.
Would love to get some input, I have no idea if this is a waste of time or something that other people would value. Thanks!

Hey. In my old webpage I've got a database of 300+ tricks with their names and Jobs. Just give me your e-mail address and I'll send you a SQL file.

I attempted to make a database project like this a while ago.
the skeleton of it is here:
http://footbagclub.com/footbagmoves/
It can be hard to get something like this off the ground because of the large amount of work involved, but much kudos to you if you can get it started.
I would be happy to share my code, but email me because I don't check modified.

Re: Open footbag tricks list database
I know I'm bumping a super old post but I'm far more skilled at database applications and programming these days, if anyone is interested in doing something like this get in contact with me.

I sent out a few PMs with some email info. I'm interested but will be a bit busy until the new year. I sent some email info in the PM's because I don't check modified much anymore.
