For making templates, I just use the fake plastic cards that credit card companies usually send you in the mail, and just cut templates out from that. Cut out the paper template, glue it on the plastic card, and carefully cut. Use a nail filer to straighten out any imperfections.

I trace my panels on my facile. Silver gel pens are ace.

I'm a cheap skate when it comes to facile. Folding facile and cutting it out makes me feel wasteful.

Here's how I trace pentagons to maximize the amount of fabric I use. I used a gold gel pen on some dark gray.
This is the rough side of the facile, which I keep track of by making those marks in the middle.

I am thinking about starting to stitch. Where do you guys buy your facile, or is there an easier way to start??? Any Tips?

try using an old t-shirt, and making 4/12 panels, they're the easiest.

Also try using the search button. :D

The search feature never works right. Just put this into google:

The search button always works for me, I don't know why everybody complains about it.

I think after you type in what you're looking for in the search bar, I think you have to click "Search for all terms." It works for me.

Good question. I went looking at a bunch of stores yesterday and couldn't find one (just black, blue, and maybe red?...) I plan to check out Staples and Office Depot today; I will report back if I find anything.

I use a ZIG Millennium pen with pigment ink thats waterproof fade proof and doesnt bleed, as for templates do as Waylon said and butcher those useless credit cards.
As for silver/gold or white gel pens they can likely be found at any business supply store, go with microtips so they dont roll on the fabric causing it to pill/strecth potentially gouge/rip.
And for cutting panels a friend of mine suggested using an exacto knife, Id like to sample one of those roller exacto knives as this would cut cutting time in half if not more, but Im also worried I may slip and cut a bunch of fabric so for now Im content with using my fabric scissors, if anyone does go the exacto route let me know how it works out.

I could never imagine using an exacto-knife or razor blade. Slipping and cutting the fabric up senselessly, losing a finger or two in the midst of it all. I just use scissors, they're simple and get the job done without bloodshed....hopefully

yeah I am with you on this one, was just throwing the idea out there, even though I have a bunch of fabric theres no point in wasting it just to save a little time, although time is money, saving time could cost you money in this case, and besides I find the whole bag making process from start to finish relaxing, although the cutting is tedious.

Please use the search function in the future. Here's a topic: http://www.modified.in/footbag/viewtopi ... 23&start=0

I will just merge these though. (Look up.)

I'll stop the search for you right here.

You don't need to draw the stitches on panels. Take Dat' advice and use a gel pen.
