Manuela's Sandbag? Publicly Sold 32 Panel Sandbag.
Manuela's Sandbag? Publicly Sold 32 Panel Sandbag.
So I was doing my usual wandering through Peal Street (Boulder, CO). And I stopped in at a kite shop. Much to my surprise, they were selling footbags! They had some really odd ones, some Sandmasters, and then there was a 32 panel bag. So I bought the 32 to see how it was.
I also bought it out of curiosity. See, I was under the impression that 32s were patented... It was only $7 so I figured why not.
It's made out of a kind of suede, I don't think it's micosuede. Filled with sand. And has "Manuela's Sandbag (tm)" on the front. There is also some kind of writing below it, but I can't seem to read it.
Anyway, I'll try to break it in, see how it plays. Anyone have any feedback on this?[/i]

Refill the bag with copper BBs and seed beads, and fill it to 66-77 grams.
I've got mediocre - awesome results from turning awful bags into something useable (to a degree).

Okay, I'll go try to take of picture of it.
Wasabi- Why copper BBs? I have some regular ones laying around, how do they effect play?
Been trying to work it in with my fingers using Mosher's video I saw somewhere... However I don't it works with sand filled, we'll just have to wait and see.

Yes.....That is a steal for $7. It looks like it has bleed holes in it. Not like other mass production bags. NEEDS some kind of SHOT for sure.
My girlfriend thinks I'm a dork.............
But she loves me anyways.

Yeah, let me go grab my sandmaster and take a comparison picture. (My golf bag is packed still.. So no golf ball comparisons)
As for the bleed holes, they're there, just tough to get to.

Max,
Bags filled with shot and poly pellets/seed beads just play better than sandbags. Especially bags with stiff fabric. You'll feel the bag better with your kicks and stalls. I just recommend copper BBs, or shot of that size, because it compliments the size of the Manuela bag you have there. It's just a tad bit smaller than your Sandmaster, but much bigger than a usual freestyle bag that is the size of a golfball.
Plus, with a heavier filler that is composed of shot and such, the fabric will break-in and get softer over time, which will add to the playability of the bag. Kicks will feel much truer, and stalls will feel much easier as the bag will just plop onto your feet. It won't stay stiff like a usual crochet bag.
Just be careful not to break it in too much, or it'll expand to a monstrous size. By this, I mean don't drive a car over your bag, or stomping your bag against the ground/cement pavement.

Oh hey, I bought one of these from Sports Authority. I figured if I could hit a ducking clipper with it in jeans while standing in line, it's at the very least a good beginner bag. The key is to find the one with the least fill, and usually the ones with the white hexes are floppiest.

I see, so with the copper BBs, I could improve the playability despite the stiff fabric. And I know what ya mean when it comes to breaking a bag in too much.. I've got a sandmaster the size of my fistWasabi wrote:Max,

Good to see that you found a place to buy them shredzilla. I didn't know that these were being sold at such large businesses as Sports Authority. Guess I'll play around with it tonight and try to get some BBs in and see how she plays!
