Everybody shut up!

This has NOTHING to do with how one modifies this shoe, use PM's or something and stop dragging on about how you can't find these shoes.

You can remove the outer stripes in the same way you remove the inner ones, I have never done this because I don't really use outsides and I didn't want to reduce the structural integridy of the shoes.. and I didn't want to make em ugly.

The heel area on clima 1's is sweet!

How? Cardboard? Maybe glue a shot glass on the heel? Maybe a small ash tray?

Heyho Tom

I just got my new Climacool Euro's and it seems that I won't ever get to mod them properly...I began trying to do the pull off thing but instead of getting a nice inside area I just destroyed the shoe the longer I tried not to cut through the mesh...when I pull the stripes there is the whole mesh attached to it and I already have 3 big spots where there is no mesh anymore so I completly fucked it up...I'm really pissed at the moment and I really don't think that this mod is even possible on my Clima Euro because every time I try to cut it's either a complete desaster or nothing at all...If I try to pull something off I just pull off the inside area completely and now I don't know anymore what to do...I don't want to continue because my shoe is already half wasted but I don't want to shred in a shoe that is half modded and half wasted which leads to a complete waste of money for a shoe that is a complete waste of time until now...I'm really desperate and I would appreciate any tips of anyone who reads this post...

I really need more pictures and explanations because even if this tutorial is great I just can't believe that my shoe is moddable and I don't really understand what " I used a pair of pliers and LOTS of effort, but it worked. You have to slit the stripe with a sharp knife at the top" means....

Hey, sorry to hear you had such bad luck with your shoes.

There was a reason I put the warning with the pull-off method, it is REALLY hard to do well!

The stripes on the euro are the same as on the 1's, they are almost exactly the same shoe actually (the only difference is the mesh).

There really isn't any easy way to pull off the stripes, you just have to be really careful and use alot of force.

If you do it properly they will just pull off in one smooth yank and all that will be left is the clear mesh. If you do it wrong you will tear and fuck up the mesh and leave big ugly holes (ive done this too).

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dont say this is true, please tell us this was a joke and post a pic of a pair of sweet modded climas.... 8O :? shit, i could offer a webcam explanation some time soon, but i work very late this week. damn, thats realy fucked.... tom, would it be possible too stich in a bit of fabric, like facile into the hole? what do you think?cause then you could just rip ut the whole mesh thing and glue some facile to the inside of the shoe... with uhu super kleber! :P well, i think this would be the best way now? does anyone disagree? super glue should do the job....

It is hopefully not completely fucked up at the time...but I have done major damage to the mesh and I don't really know if I should continue with trying to get the stripe stuff off...I am almost finished with doing the broka cut thingy and stitching it back together...works fine, no harm done to the shoe whatsoever...It still is a very nice shoe and can be saved but the inside is at a challenging point and I'm still not sure what to do...
Besides there was no silicone caulking at the "do it yourself" store at my place so I will have to look for that too and I'm thinking of using it to repair the damage I have done to the mesh...I really want those stripes off but I don't know if I can handle it without destroying my climas totally...We'll see and I will soon post a picture of my shoe with the broka cut and the mesh problem (luckily it's only one shoe with that problem) - It'll take some time but I won't give up until this shoe is a perfect footbag shoe without being crappy before ever having shredded with it....Go Me :D

and thx for the explanations Tom and Marco...

When I got my climas and got around to doing the modding it took me forever. Both shoes I took a day of working on to get those stripes off. I accidentally cut holes in the wire mesh, but there still good. It just takes time and patience to do the stripe mod. Go to the "post you shoes" thread and I think you can see the couple of holes on the insides of my climas.

Surely I didn't think to do it in 20 minutes but having done more damage than anything else to the shoe after 2 hours of painstaking efforts really sucks :x ...And what you all need to understand...it's a difference to make holes into the mesh and to cut the mesh off completely because that's what I have done at one point and that's what frightens me off to continue with that mod...

sorry to hear that torn

but i got my clima 1s, and they ended up being sweeeeet! i only made i tear in the mesh, and the rest are just like runs.. like the mesh moved... but didnt break

does anyone not do the silicone fill mod? i was wondering, and i find its like a pocket to catch the bag in... like a clipper rail, sorta.

man climas are sweet. i think they feel better, and look better than lavers.

my game hasnt really shown a diff yet, but ive only had 45 mins of time to shred... ill test more after i get out of class....pics to come hopefully within the next week.

What about if I wanted to mod my climas in a way that they would still give me footbag and running advantages?

With the exception of the Brockut, I don't think any mod will inhibit running in ClimaCools. Even if you do the Brocka mod, you'll only be down some ankle support..definitely do-able.

If you're serious about running, removing the ankle support may be a bad idea. I mean, I don't know anything about running or any of that steez, but I'd imagine that if it's THERE, you're better off leaving it there if you do a lot of running. Maybe.

Invest on other shoes for running. There's the possibility you may kill your Clima 1's sole because of your shred style.

Use a utility razor blade and be very careful, score the plastic lightly and go over it as much as you need. Be sure to stop cutting if you feel a rough texture, since it will mean you've gotten down to the plastic mesh - if you push too hard you could easily cut through the mesh. Needle nose plyers make pulling the fins off a lot easier than w/ ur hands or regular plyers.

hey i took care of it :D im really proud of myself because i dont have holes in the mesh on BOTH shoes!!! NO HOLES YAY!!!

i had a spot where one string of the mesh broke... but lightly running the lighter over the spot worked... i had to be careful though... i dont want to set my shoes on fire!

here are the results:

Image

luckily i have an xacto knife with extra blades... this came in handy rather than using a pocket knife or a box cutter

Image

^this is after taking off the fins

Image

^i was too lazy to take the dark blue stripes off of the glittery plastic before i took them off all together... i got lucky with this one.

Image

and for anyone who buys silicone for their climas... dont get grey or white... neither one of them dry because they arent ment for deep grooves (i just now read that on the tube). im going to be scooping my white silicone out right now and im about to go to walmart to get clear... because obviously that works better.

haha brian was getting mad at me when i was pulling off the stripes without taking the blue stripes off. he was like "youre going to be sorry".. but i like learning things the hard way because im thick headed. i got lucky on these
