Thanks! Right now I'm working on a Ultrasuede light/ Ultrasuede Soft hybrid. It may not turn out as good, because it's my second bag and first hybrid, I getting used to the different amounts of gathering.

I haven't stitched before, but I researched for about a month. I'm also a fairly artsy guy, so I can pick up on things quick.
I'll give you the vocab now.
Hybrid- footbag with two or more different materials.
USL/ Ultrasuede light- Facile. The most common stitching material. You have it.
USS/ Ultrasuede soft- a thicker ultrasuede, that is very soft (derp!).
Gathering- When you tug on the thread to tighten. Getting the right ammount of gather is very important, I'm still working on it.

Ugh. I'm not sure I should have made a hybrid for my second footbag. Oh well, I can put it up for experience!

hey everyone. my name is Trent, and i cant even hit the basic stalls :D
i have however managed to make a few footbag babies. so here they are.

#1 after i ripped it apart. #2. both made with crappy fabric. both useless :)
Image

#3. first USL bag! good bit larger than a golfball. leaks tho... so it's useless.
Image

#4. fixed the bleed holes. also a bit smaller.
Image

#5. first bi-polar :D smaller than a golfball. playable... by my standards.
Image

hopefully more soon. all comments and critiques welcome.

What filler are you using man?
I suggest making some 4 panel USL bags and filling it with very fine steel shot. Youll learn how to stall really quick; if you have some good shoes.
4 panels are easy to practice stitching and gather on, also, and they have less holes so you can use small filler (for stalling).

Something I noticed, that you might want to work on, is stitching evenly. Wrinkles are usually cause by uneven stitching. Also, gather some more.

welcome new stitcher. best advice: make lots of of bags and try different things with each one. (things consist of filler, gather, bite, and size)
two stitch customs:

I was wondering if an advanced stitcher could give me feedback on my first bag. It's the next to last post on page 380. I would like to know what to do better in the future, or if all I need is to practice.

that bag looks pretty good, especially considering it's your first! it looks like your gather needs to be a little more consistent, some of your pents are bigger than others which makes the bag less round. this is something that comes with practice, but taking the time to make sure your bite depth is consistent and using a gathering tool will yield more even results. even pents = round bags. i use a triple A battery with some electrical tape wrap to get the right gather.

can't wait to see more from you!

Bags 1-4 made with USL.
Made the Yellow/Black first. Its black USL. Its stiff, not very playable.
Red/blue and Blue/Petit Pois are decent. They are both being broken in.
Country cream and Scarlet is where it's at. It's really soft (its sunk in in the picture). I love stitching!

Oh, and my lavers. I love me some lavers and tight gathered, bouncy, heavy bags. Mmmmmm.

EDIT:
I added more filler to the scarlet/cream. Dear lord that is a good bag (If I do say so myself). It feels awesome to have made something good! It broke in (didnt take much) and its supple and heavy. Mmmmm.
