On the topic of the 1010 blur (thanks mike for laying it out for us) I should mention that Lonn Irish was the first stitcher I ever noticed using this pattern.

For a long time peng and I have just called it the 'lonn three colour' pattern. We now just say 'eight twelve' or 'ten ten' to describe what style of three colour you're making.

10 10's look sick.

I definitely have a slightly different shred style depending on how small and or rolly the footbag I'm playing with is.

EDITED!!! i talked to rich to get some history on these patterns, heres the scoop!

Image

RADIATION style.

wanna know why?

Image

personally, ive never heard it called "pentomic" or whatever. and if im correct it was holly who only coined "sci' a week or two ago...

this is a design rich said he doesnt believe he created, yet has been making since 1990. hes always called it "radiation" which means its been around longer than the VAST majority of us have been shredding, much less stitching.

just wanted to throw that out there, so that deserved credit isnt stripped from where its due. i could start making up all my own names for old patterns too but that would sort of defeat the purpose ;)

Image

ATOMIC style. this is in fact an abshire design. radiation with 4 colors, with a matching 5 hex design and a 3 pent 1 hex design on polar sides of the bag, of the same color. he said it was a product of just staring at the bag and thinking of new ways to make the radiation bag.
oh and thanks for usin meh baggage for an example! :D

GOBSTOPPER is the term for a bag that has one solid pent color and 5 alternating hex colors.
note 3rd and 4th bag from left on top row here from Mikes collection:
Image

traditionally done with black or white pents, and red, yellow, blue, green, orange hexes.

RADIATION GOBSTOPPER is a gobstopper bag with one of the hex colors being the same color as the pent colors, thus creating a radiation symbol amongst the gobstopper colors. (pic anyone?)

there are other forms of radiation, like that black/red/yellow/blue (dont know what color on back side is) bag up there^, which dont have specific names as such, but are simply radiation and atomic variations. they, again, have been made for years and years and are similar to some of the bags seen in an outdated pic of richies collection here:

Image

try to get away with re-naming some of those!!!  8)

i thought id also mention that MAZE is the term for a bag with 32 different colors

good list nonetheless

A Maze bag sounds kickass. If I had 32 colors to sew with, i'd be all over than.
