Buying Facile for X-mas, Top 8 colors

Post by david » 03 Dec 2006 08:50

Hey, I'm buying facile for xmas and I was wondering if you could just give me your 8 best color names. I like medium thickness. I've sorted through the thread below but have most of them. Thanks.

petit pois, atlantis and colonial red are my favorite feeling. all really soft and perfect thickness. Marmalade is pretty nice too if you want an orange

top eight in medium thickness

active green
white
atlantis
colonial red
green mist is underrated.
splash blue
marmalade
storm grey.

rose quartz is kinda ugly when its dirty, but its awesome.

(flash red is alittle thick, but its one of my fav. ive gone thru 2 .125 yards, and im ordering my 3rd next week.

if you arent afraid of medium-thicker stuff, midnight isnt bad

Willow is not medium thickness (it's pretty thin), but it freaking kicks ass. I recommend it. :)

Also, I like Lapis. And Country Cream is good as well.

Active Green
Splash Blue
Animal Print
Cameo (a good replacement for Country Cream, but a bit thicker)
Admiral (a more striking blue than midnight, but not like Imperial Blue)
Punch, if you can find a good source.
Green Grape
Storm/Stone Grey (former is thinner, latter is a bit thicker)

Willow is good. If you like Storm, you will like Willow. Stronger than Tulip, but bland in color comparison.

Petit Pois is way thick. I never get any good results in using it with the colors I want it go with.

Marmalade is good, but it's feasible to pilling. Saffron is like a thicker Willow, but is a good orange.

Where do you find facile? I searched it on google and couldn't come up with anything.

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out.

I use a silver gel pen. You can find it at your local art supply store.

Or you could press the template against several folds of the facile color, and cut along the template side. It's all good any way you cut it.
