oil break in
oil break in
I read in a forum that you can break in a bag in 30 minutes with oil and heat and other stuff. Is that true?
Hmm, yea kind of like that stuff that you put on a baseball glove when you first get it to break it in. I got this stuff it was like an oil you work in, and then i would put a baseball in the mid, rap it up with a rubber band and throw it on top of the vents in my house to break it in, maybe something like that would work on a footbag? Doesn't answer your question at all but was just adding my thoughts, sounds like a good idea, as long as you could get the oil out of the bag, you wouldnt want to be leaving oil spots all over your shoes and your floors...

I use Johnson & Johnson's Softwash Body Wash. 1/3 of the formula has Baby Lotion in it. I sometimes combine it with shampoo to help soften the bag in case the break-in process (or sweat) makes the bag all crusty.

also when youre thinking about oil break in on bags, keep in mind that almost all filler corrodes(sp?).
before you wash bags you should ask the stitcher what is in it. once i got a footbag from someone as a trade and i kicked it then washed it with normal soap (when i say normal i mean the kind i normally use for footbags). and it got all slimy and wouldnt wash clean. the next day when i picked it up after drying it was crunchy and it seemed like the filler had expanded. it was so bad that the bag was like those net footbags. well i had to investigate... so i checked he inside and sure enough someone actually filled the bag with lead and SEEDS! not seed bead.. but real seeds that make plants. some of them had little sprouts from being wet all night. it was a nice bag until i washed it. stupid me liking things clean.

i did that by accident somewhat recently. i dont really want to talk about it, but i somehow kicked it onto a busy street and it got run over like by 4 cars, both tiresblurryben wrote:The fastest way to break in a bag is under a car, try it!
