Laver sizing

Post by jennyisahatt » 22 Nov 2008 18:12

I'm going to order some Lavers, and I was wondering, do they have the same sizing as any other shoes? Such as, perhaps, Vans?
Also, is it better to have them snug, or loose fitting?

I am normally an 8.5 in women's shoes, and a 7 (mens) Laver fits perfect. So, assuming you're a girl, I would say go a size and a half down.

My first pair was snug and my current is loose, and I liked the snug a whole lot more. Combined with a very very thin insole in the toe area, the loose pair makes toe moves allot less exact since the toe area is basically a big crater where bags get stuck.

Snug is totally the way to go. You won't regret having a pair of Lavers that fit accordingly to your feet.

are your 10.5 shoes so snug that they're borderline uncomfortable?

if there's still some wiggling room in 10.5 for you, size 10 lavers may be the way to go. i wear size 9 shoes usually, but I always buy 8.5 lavers. they're often so snug when I first get them, that I get blisters if I'm not careful. However, after a little break-in period, they're perfect and tight and precise.

Yeah my g-unit g6's have that little wiggle room and i was thinking about getting a 10.5 but i think i should trust a 10 just in case. Im getting mesh but if im lucky i should be ordering some twills.

So should men go down a size and a half to? If I wear a size 7 quantum, what size laver would I wear?

that "size and a half" business was to convert to women's shoes.

I'm not sure if quantums and lavers are sized the same. I'm pretty sure they're quite similar, though. I will PM mike anello and ask him to comment on this, as he has used both shoes in the past year.

Quantums are generally a half-a-size to a full size larger than Rod Lavers.

I wear size 7 Quantums and size 5.5 G-units (I would prefer a size 6 G-unit, but that particular size is nowhere to be found; the size 5.5 was really snug when I first wore them but I stretched the shoe quite a bit with some walking). For me, Lavers in a size 6 is too snug, but a 6.5 is just right.
