silk thread

Post by Jiffy » 22 Jan 2011 17:46

ok, so i have used upholstery thread and floss. i like floss better but you have to burn your knots which requirs a lighter. i do a lot of sewing at school in study halls and stuff. so lighters are not good. i can still use dental floss by just burning the knots when i get home but either way that takes longer and is inconvenient. upholstery thread is ok but it just feels like non stretchy fishing line and i dont like sewing with it. however, i think that silk thread would give the best of both worlds, no lighter, super strong, and not plastic. what do you guys think? has anyone ever used it before? either way im making a bag sometime in the near future and will use silk thread for it and let you guys know.

I would imagine that silk thread would work great as long as it's not too thin.
