Yeah, I don't stretch as much as I probably should - I do try to do most of my stretching after playing, but should probably add a stretch routine after an initial low-impact warmup as well.

Most of the reason I'm sore is because I haven't played AT ALL for months - I took the winter completely off.

Woo! Had a hell of a session with Stephen Barnes and his friend Kyle from Wyoming. Their shit was tight!

Steve & Kyle had two completely different styles, which I found very interesting. Barnes is so smooth, he makes everything look so easy! Then Kyle has this old-school hack style. A few times I thought Kyle was going to land on his knees rather than his feet, but he managed to get his feet back under him. He caught moves that I thought were already on the floor - fast and crazy!

It was a great day. I did a few more pixie leg overs, and got three moves into a mirage > leg over > rpt. I just couldn't make it to the last legover. I'll be drilling that though, and swapping out pickups and illusions. Maybe in a few weeks I'll have mirage > leg over > mirage > legover > illusion > pickup > illusion > pickup > rpt.

Anyway, I'll be taking a few days off because I really throttled my right leg. Even with 6 ibuprofen in me, I could feel the pain coming on in the front of my upper leg. I decided to stop before I did some serious damage.

Anyway, thanks for the session guys!!

Great stuff man!

Make sure you don't over do it with that leg. That said, keep up the great work!

Heck yeah. Even if it rains.

BTW, there is another gazebo spot behind the Veterans Memorial off of Riverside - it's smaller than the one in Lowell Park, but might provide a dry spot for a single shredder, as long as the rain isn't coming down horizontally.

Played with Henry last Sunday (almost a week ago) and knocked my legs out of commision for two whole days. I was hobbling around like I had arthritis of the knees. My leg muscles were so sore I could barely use them. But that's all thankfully gone and I'm getting in and out of cars like a pro now. :P

I've recently been trying my hand (head) at ducking. I can land decent (1 out of 3) ducks on my strong side, still trying to get 1 of 10 on my weak side though. Although I've tried a few times, I have yet to get back to back clipper to op clipper ducks. Once those come, I want to do clip > duck > same clip and really get those down. Then it's off to ducking butterflies!! Woo!!

Anyway, not really much new here other than I'm actually playing once a week or so - Thank HenryG for that as he's been coming over and shredding with me. :D

I knew moving to Stoughton had benefits!!

Ordered a fresh pair of CT-520s today so I can retire my old pair soon! They're getting pretty nasty, and I wear them when I mow the lawn, so the white bases are turning greenish. :P

My new shoes should be here within the week! Can't wait to chop them up.

Why is it I can't hit anything new, ever??

I called in sick yesterday (because I was genuinely sick!), but that didn't stop me from trying to play...

We went to my wife's company's annual picnic, and I played over and over throughout the day... Maybe a total of 1-1.5 hours, but spread out a bit at a time... I was trying whirls, drifters, clipper-ducks, infinities, and other moves I'm trying to get or improve... No obvious improvement yet... I'm starting to bring the bag closer to my body with infinities, so maybe that's an improvement... But the rest of them are PANTS!!

While I taking a break in the park and these three potheads were hanging around with their bikes, one of which is an old bmx, brush-painted neon green. I was admiring his ride, and they were about to take off, when I dropped the bag into a toe stall. They all immediately turned around and were transfixed. :P

The one that was obviously very toasted kept calling me a god. They seemed to be most impressed when I landed a perfect osis, and they also seemed to like the one around the world I did. :P The ducking and mirages didn't get much of a reaction though. Pothead kickers are easily impressed, apparently.

I should have told them "you should see me when I'm not sick!" I was also playing on a rather odd slope, which didn't lend itself well to my balance. :P

Still, I wish all audiences were so enthralled. Bumps the ego a bit. :D

i think you just need to work the basics a lot more. Instead of working mostly on clippers in a session, just do strings of toe-toe 2 adds with clippers and stuff mixed in :)

Yeah, I tend to keep it on my sides (clippers)... I have been doing more toe stuff, because it feels nice to string a few mirages, leg overs, pick ups and the like together. I only know a couple of clipper moves, but lots of toe moves.

Trying to get whirls and drifters is really frustrating me, because I want to hit ONE of them, so I always drill my good side, in hopes that one will come... Meanwhile, my flip is getting seriously neglected. :P I just know I'll get a whirl or drifter and then wait another year for the flipside, and that just sucks.

no no no, i mean. Dont TRY for advanced moves until you can get like 20+ contact tiltless runs.

Yeah, I've always had to work on my strings... I do drill a lot of basic stuff, but sometimes I throw in some advanced stuff like whirl and drifter attempts. I probably spend half my time working on new stuff though (which I never get)...

So yeah, I think you're right, Henry.
Consistency counts I suppose.

Oooooohhhhh yyyessssssss!!

I've been trying to hit this for months now, and I can finally say that I've hit it.

Today, in 10 minutes of lunch-time shredding...

First, Clipper > Duck BSOS (some toes and maybe a mirage in between)

Then, (Clipper > Duck BTB > Drop) x2
THEN! Clipper > Duck > Clipper > Duck > Clipper > Duck > Clipper > Toe > Catch!

Clipper ducking BTB sealed!

Check that off my list of things to do before I die. :P

Woot! While waiting for take-out chinese, I hit toe whirl x4!! Last time I hit a whirl was last year I think, and I've never been able to hit it since I stopped playing over winter.

I even sealed one of them. Now for the flipside, and clip set. Always more to do!
