OK so, i'm brand new to modified and i don't really know where to start. I'm really interested in in keeping a record of the stuff i've hit and the stuff i'm working on as well as my experiences. So, this seems like a good place to begin posting. My friend dave says that people can be pretty harsh on here if i post and dont really know what i'm talking about? So i guess i'm shy to post on anything else for now.

Disclaimer: I type and spell horribly. Even after proof reading. Sorry.

I gues i'm just gonna write up on my history in footbag for starters.
I live in Binghamton NY. Grew up here my whole life.
I started circlekicking late in 11th grade. I quickly became the best at my school and soemtime before the end of 12th grad took my consecutive kicks into the high 800's. As far as tricks go I only had leg overs, pendulems, and toe-inside-outside-heel stalls. After writeing a short research paper about what i then only knew as "hacky sack" I fouded the binghamton footbag guild aka BFG. I hear it didn't last more than a year after i graduated. And i didn't even last that long.

After highschool i bascially stoped playing for 2 years.
One day i brought my hand drum down to a drum circle downtown and met a few kids circle kicking. Apprently one of them had heard of me and had been looking for me for years? He was pretty good. It was a week later that i met a friend of his named Mark. For the first time ever mark brought out the shred for my eyes to see. After i saw him hit pheonix the desire to shred was lit within me.

there were 5 of us back then, we palyed twice a week. We got better fast. It's been 2 years from then. Now there are only 3 of us and we never meet on a regular basis. i rarely have anyone else to shred with but my desire to play and improve remains strong.

I've only ever been to three tournaments. Grass 07 - worlds 07 - and whatever the name of the one that was just held in new york last weekend. I know, i'm lame. Whatever.. i wasnt palning on going.. hell i didn't even know about it untill friday. THANK YOU MAT CROSS!!

I played with 12 panel sand bags untill i went to GRASS. There i won two of 4 intermediate competitions and got 2nd in a 3rd. Made it to finals in cirlce but i sucked out. I won some 32 panel bags and bought a couple. That experience helped my game in a lot of ways.

I haven't compeated since.. i feel so out calssed and idk how much i care about doing better than anyone else. I just want to hit the moves and feel the thrill of a nice string or a "big" (for me) trick.

Everyone i've met through the competitions i've been to from beginers to masters has been so nice to me. I really love this comunity and would like to do what i can to help it grow.

i know in the future here i want to post the tricks i've hit so i can keep a record for myself. Sometimes i hit stuff and say "wow i've never done that" and then my friends are like "yeah you have for sure" so i want to wite it out somewhere so i dont' have to count on my bad memory.

at this point i don't know how to write out ticks with the notation everyone uses... gotta learn that fo sho. but that said.. just wanna remeber that last night i hit my 1st clean spining ducking symposium reverse whirl and my 4th and 5th rip worriors one right after the other.

oh yeah, i suppose i should post this somewhere else to find out how legit it is. But i hit soemthing over the weekend that i was told has possibly never been done. I think the break down of it would be "pendulus-reverse ducking- crossbody rake". it's pretty freekin cool. Please dont' bash me for my lack of knowlage. thanks.

Ok, been writeing too long and my life is catching up with me.. gotta go out and have some fun. Peace.

Yo kyle! thanks for coming on my car breakdown adventure to the city. I had a good time.

if you're concerned about people being too hard on you, then be careful to use the search function at the top of the screen before you ask questions, and if you ask a question, make sure it's in the right forum. Forgetting to do those are pretty much the pet peeves of anyone who would complain about your posting around here. Also, read the sticky notes at the top of the different forums to get lots of information.

if you're really weird about it, you can just ask me everything in private messages, I don't mind.

hope everything's okay with shaky. hope we can kick again soon,

matt

the 3 of us that play around here got together and palyed for a wile 2 days ago. I was doing badly but i didn't care cuz i hardly get to shred with friends. Mark rolled his ankle trying a sidewalk.. which his is good at. It was really lame. I hit toe set diving drifter for my first time. Thats my first over the head drifter ever. Only took about 10 trys. Also hit my first back to back stepping op reverse whirls. I need to go read how to write stuff out in that damn notation. Seems like everytime i play i'm hitting somthing new. I love this sport!
