Long time no post! I'm back from Polish Championships, and I feel that this trip was a very valuable experience. I was involved in the organization to a high degree and learned a lot. I think this will be helpful when the next Wrocław's tournament - Zocha Jam - comes.

Shred-wise I played well, which was kind of surprising, as I didn't put as much effort into preparations as in previous years. I got 1st in BigOne with Symp. Whirling Matador, which was a moment I won't forget. After trying this trick on and off for about two years I've hit it first try, after Symp. Whirling Barfly and Symp. Whirling Pdx Drifter. I also played well in Circle Contest, earning 2nd place. The other two medals was silver in 4 Square and bronze in Sick3 (Blurry Drifter > Blurriest > PS Eggbeater). I'm very happy with these results :)

There was a lot of shred, even though I didn't participate in all of it as I was busy with other stuff, but after the finals we had a late night shred session in the streets, and it was fun! In the beggining I shredded with Kuba Grabarczyk, Rożo and Yeti and we did some casual tricks, drills and combos, nothing hardcore and I liked it. Then the cops came and told us to change the spot so we went to a parking lot and played some games there, like a horse with adding tricks to make a combo.

The level of Freestyle was very high this year, there was only one dropless routine (in the semifinals by Arek Dudziński), but Damian Gielnicki, and Marcin Bujko both had one drop routines in the finals. Damian won, becoming the new champion - congratulations Damian! Another thing is, that the Shred30 record was broken - in the semifinals Marcin Bujko hit a run that scored 235,7. What was even cooler in the finals his brother beat him, scoring about 234! It was close :)

I would like to thank Roger from Kraków, and his team for organizing everything, and making kickass t-shirts (I should make a photo), Kierpca for being super prepared and running the judging workshop with me, Michał Biarda "Cod" for judging me like on Wilanów Cup, and telling me, that my Flaring Barfly "could have been better" , Kuba Grabarczyk for doing a great job with judging and hanging out, Red for helping us with the computer stuff, Gromit, Franek and Setman for counting Shred30 and everyone else I didn't mention! :)

Pozdrawiam

Argh I still make the same mistake :? Thanks for spotting it Kuba. Asmus - Arek Dudziński won 4 Square by 3 points. There was some controversy concerning another player in the finals (from the same city as Norek) getting him points, but whatever. Second place is also good! I will try to hit Flaring Blender on video, and also Critical Mass, as I managed to land it again today. Other stuff that happened:

Paradon > Pdx Drifter > Pdx DLO (rpt)
Quantum ss Drifter BS
Stepping ss Mirage > Smear > Toe Blur > Tapdown (rpt) - 4 sets drill
Clip set ss Double Switchover BS
run z Stepping ss Eggbeater i Bedwetter BSOS
flip Locomotion
Blaze > Dimwalk (rpt)

Paweł Rożek created a new list for practicing tricks, which I really like. We will try to train the tricks from that list on every session.

Thanks for posting Kljopa! The weather is still bad, so we didn't have a lot of sessions, but yesterday we went to Strzelin and participated in a Footbag Golf tournament. It was fun, even though the weather could have been bettter. There were some creative holes and technical shots were made by all :) After the tournament was over (I got 3rd place BTW) we decided to have a shred session. Thankfully there was a place indoors for us to shred in, so we went there, turned the music on and freestyled away. I hit one new drill, which was Stepping Whirl > Blur > Toe Blur > Tripwalk (rpt). I've tried it before, but couldn't hit it, so it was nice to finally land it.

I picked up Pen Spinning, and I'm pretty hooked. I constructed a spinning device:

And spent some time today schooling tricks. It's cool :) It looks like a fun thing to do to pass time and impress some friends

I met and shredded with Andrew Johnson Seattle today! He's a cool guy. Apparently he's one of the longest playing people in Seattle. Now he's studying in Scotland, and he visited Poland for his holiday trip. The funny thing is, that half an hour before out meeting he was stopped by a person who offered to buy his shoes (he was wearing Lavers Milleniums). Of course he didn't understand a thing, but after that person started speaking in English, it turned out that he wants to buy them for footbag. That person was Michał Ostrowski :) Completely random footbag meeting!

When I arrived they were kicking casually, so I introduced myself and we started shredding. Andrew is a good guiltless player, so we had a nice circle going on. I've hit two new things, which are Stepping ss Symp Eggbeater (first try ever) and Stepping ss Eggbeater > Dolomite. Unfortunately, while landing the second combo I hurt the ball of my foot (the landing was too hard) and now I have trouble walking. But I think it will heal fast. There were some spectators and we did some long runs for them.

Here's Andrew and his super crank (which is kind of similar to Andrew McCargar's crank, AND they're both named Andrew 8O ):

In the end of the session we did the traditional Polish training list, which was succesfully completed  Andrew told me lots of interesting stuff about the scene in the USA, that was cool. Thanks to footbag it's possible to meet people from different cultures and places! Footbag rules.

Penspinning update: I'm learning new stuff, here you can see some of it:

Had a fun session with Hania, I didn't get enough sleep today so we were mostly schooling concepts and doing some single tricks. I worked my Pixie sets, flip Stepping, some Fairy and Ducking and Diving Osis. I never really schooled Ducking Osis tricks, and they are pretty cool I must say. Hania was practicing lots of stuff, she hit Drifter b2b a couple of times, that was nice. We also talked about her trip to Spain and I told her how the Polish Championships went (since she couldn't make it). We had some people stopping and watching us (some of them even cheered  ). One guy wanted us to show us some basic tricks, so Hania went and hit a long run, passed to me, and I hit a longish run as well, he was impressed.

On 29th September there's a big tournament in Warsaw. It's the annual Wilanów Cup, and it's going to be cool as always. What else, you can see the routines from Polish Champs in the video section, check them out!

Short session at the skatepark with Rożo and Hania yesterday, resulted in the following stuff:

Pigbeater BSOS (challenge from June 2005  )
Symp. Torque > PS Whirl

I schooled some weak concepts again, tried to do some tripless runs, and did one that had about 20 contacts? We also did the trick list, so I got to practice Motions and other thing I don't really do. In the end of the session I challenged Rożo to hit flip Food and Spender, and he hit it of course :D Another session today, and since the weather is very nice, we're going to shred outside I think.

Thanks for the kind words fellas (and Erik for the comment on YouTube), me and my friends are glad you liked it  I visited Strzelin today for a shred session, and we played inside a nice gym. It would be cool if they got their stuff together and hosted a tournament there (wink, wink). Anyway, I hit some new stuff!

Symp. Whirling Reaper
Quantum Barrage

I almost hit Quantum Barrage on the other side, the bag went flying in front of me, and Tomek tried to catch it (but failed). I'm happy with the first trick, as it's a possible invention. Other good news are that I captured Critical Mass on tape, and there's also Symp. Whirling Pdx Blender there. As soon as I get to the other computer (currently occupied by my brother) I'll make a video.

I've been playing footbag for 4 years now. As I visited various tournaments I tried to have something for a souvenir, and a reminder that I was there, and had a good time. I put all this stuff on my wall, which was pretty much empty before that. I really like how it looks like, as it shows how much footbag influenced my life:

Image

The first part of the stuff on the main wall. On the top left you can see my most valuable medal, which was the gold I got at the Polish Champs 2006. There are some posters from one of my first tournaments, like Remont 003, Todexon 6 or Polish Champs 2004, where I competed in Open division for the second time. There's also a leaflet from the Berlin Footbag Summer camp, under the Todexon poster.

On the left, inside a frame, there's a diploma from Open Championships of Å
