YES.

Dude.. PROPS ON FLIP WHIRL. I knew you'd have that soon. I must have you know, I didn't hit Whirl until I was about 2 years in :P You're really condensing my shred time and learning quicker than I did. And I'm really glad you took my string advice. Can't wait to see it at East Coasts. Keep up the good work man.

Thanks, Nick. Hopefully we both get to see the footage of new, refreshed Ben soon. If not, then you will see my fat ass at ECFC. So super pumped for it. The advice you gave me seriously led me to a great session and *sees into future* great future sessions. I also got close to flip swirl yesterday (Marc told me he'd buy me dinner if I hit it. Footed it, so no dinner.) I also got close to torque, even though it would have been the ugliest torque in torqueing history of torques in torqueland. I have you to thank for the proximity of how close I got. Also, this is my 60th post, so I guess I'm shredalicious. You were right, I caught the footbug :p

Dude, I'm so glad that my advice wore off on you. I was hoping you'd start incorporating it. Trust me, out of any of the players of PSUFC right now, you are the one that reminds me most of myself. That includes similar tricks you do, similar style, similar links.. but also some similar flaws, which, as you saw with the "10 contacts of 1 adds to start a string", but it's stuff that isn't super hard to fix, so that's awesome. Since I know your game so well (because it's basically mine 3 years ago :P) I want to help you with some more advice like the last advice I gave you. I texted you but you're probably already in sleepyfuckfuckland. Hit me up when you can dude. Looking forward to ECFC!

Yesterday, I sessioned with PSFC. Beforehand, Nick and Ivan gave me long string tips given my tiltlessness. Instead of going for tiltless strings that incorporate guiltless tricks, I am to start every string with 10 or so 1 adds then a 2 add, followed by 1 adds rpt. This won't be as much fun but will lengthen my strings and get me good at bailing. Thanks for the advice, guys. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that there are several people out there who care enough about my game to let me know the brutal truth of my failing and give me not only tips but exactly what I need to reconstruct my game. Ivan is an awesome H.N.I.C. for PSFC and no one loves footbag like Nick Polini. No one.

Haha, had to look that acronym up... thanks urban dictionary! Whatever you do, don't let yourself get bummed out if you drop on stupid tricks. You are not obligated to anyone to hit those, except for yourself - and when you do drop, don't get mad at yourself, just realize what you did wrong and what you should do next time. I know its easy to say and hard to actually implement, but this strategy helps me enjoy sessions a lot more, even when I am dropping every other flip clipper I attempt. I promise you that you will never see me angry during a session - frustrated and slightly incredulous - yes, but not angry. Kick on dude, things are looking up for your game.

Would you like some juice, Michael?

Yesterday morning, I had a 4am session with Marc. We had just returned from the bars and what-not. It was surprisingly constructive.

To elaborate on the fun I had at East Coasts, I met up with people whom I have kicked with in the past and also a bunch of people I had never met before. I met Pete Bowler, Cassie, Kevin Hogan, Ben Cooke, Bruce Dole, and other people for the first time. The level of play at East Coasts was awesome. If I had forgotten at all why I want to get better, East Coasts was definitely a kickass reminder.
I competed in intermediate circle. This was my first time competing in anything. I sucked. But I don't feel bad about sucking. My goal this time was simply to compete at all. I did not do very well but I am happy I went through with it... and had fun. I got a little frustrated when Nick advised I not play in my lavers (the bottoms are cracking.) I played, instead, in my new quantum 03's. The lack of any toe walls through off my toe game but my clippers and insides felt alright. The puffy areas around the ankles also hurt my sole unusual surface game a little bit. I plan on fixing my lavers soon but will settle for quantums for the next few days. Tonight, the PSU club is expecting a secret guest.
Kick.

Last night, we had another great PSU session. Jean-Philipe Labbe came to visit and kick with us on his way back to Canada. Awesomeness. I footed strong side anchor and gave inspinning a try from clipper. Pizza was consumed afterward, as well as beer. Pizza and beer. Footbag, pizza, and beer.

Yesterday, I had arrived at the PSU session an hour late. I didn't kick too much but managed to hit some new tricks.
clipper > far guay bs
clipper > far pickup bs
pixie legover (strong side)
flapper > rake (strong side) a recommendation from Derek Mikesell.
I footed dimwalk from strong side and got close to an ugly ripwalk.
after the session, the club went out to eat and then went to shredhaus to play cards against humanity.
earlier today, i filmed an interview featuring ivan. as soon as I finish the editing, I will post it here.

I showed up for yesterday's Psu session for a half hour before I went to work. Nothing was hit worth highlighting. In other news, I shoe goo'd my blue lavers, so hopefully the cracks in the sole will be halted.

This weekend was awesome! Jon Schneider came to PSU for a visit. If you are reading this and have read most of my other blog posts (Nick Polini, shout out to ya' bendy ankles,) you would realize that Jon's style is a huuuge influence on my own. The PSU club and Jon kicked on friday for good amount of hours, then we got some food, beers, and watched "Up." Saturday, there was more kick as well as fun chilly times and Sunday, there was even more kick! Unfortunately, I had work on Sunday (yesterday) so I only kicked for about ten minutes or so :(((. I am soo looking forward to hanging out with and kicking with Jon very soon!

As far as highlights go, during the last few sessions, I Bsos'd spinning toe from clipper, had a lot of fun matching kicking with strong beats (most notably, a Pendulum song Ivan played,) I shattered my clipper > near mirage BS record by a lot... I wasn't counting when I did so but I randomly chose it in a string then ended up drilling it until I dropped and impressed myself.
Finally, something new that I tried and almost impressed the bunz out of myself is that, whilst stringing, I hit pdx mirage BSOS, strong Butter, strong osis, then dropped on the weak butter. I wasn't initially trying to BSOS BOP, but (belligerent Billies bully Beauregard by benign batteries) I managed to randomly get surprisingly close to it. (Adverbs are awesomely sweet.) So, in a way, I guess hitting BOP completely on my strong side is a highlight as well as half of a weak butter and a weak osis. :p

A ton of my future strings will (although I will emphasize density) contain BOP with BSOS as a goal. I must now let my legs rest for I have been kicking maddd hard the past few days.

The ankles thankles.

Damn dude, hitting BOP on one side already? Good stuff! I can't wait to shred with you during Halloween! Should be a fucking blast! Sounds like you've really improved too! Keep improving! Hope shredding with Jon has inspired you even further.

Cya soon bud!
