Had a killer session today. First since Wednesday.
Listened to my ipod while playing, I liked that.
Drilled osis. Left feels good. Drilled mirage. Drilled legovers a bit. Starting to get the hang of those. Drilled spinning clipper both sides. Footed spinning butterfly! Strings felt good. I drilled DATW. Then...

I hit Double ATW!!!!!

It was really awesome. I was so psyched. I have been trying to do that for 6 months now. I footed it so many times at the beginning of the session, I just knew I would hit it by the end. It was really clean too, and with my own bag.
Bad news: my mom is getting pissed because she has emailed Freedom about the Q3s 3 days ago and they havent responded. They charged her credit card 2 months ago for shoes they didnt have. My mom is going to flip...
On a lighter note: I hit DATW!
Aight, peace.

Had a session last night and tonight.
Didnt play well last night. Did normal drills and such.
Played better tonight. Footed DATW, couldnt seal it though. Drilled osis a ton. Hit Spinning Butterfly for the first time tonight, twice. Pretty cool.
I think listening to music helps. I kept pretending that I was doing a routine, but then halfway through the song, I just stopped with trying to coordinate to the music, cause I had like 50 drops.
We got a call from Sunny Genz about the Q3s. The only pair of black 7s they got went to Waylon. I thought it was kinda funny. So my mom finally canceled. Instead I am getting red lavers. I am stoked about em.
I need to get back into stitching.
Peace.

5000 Views!!!
Had a decent session today for about a half hour. Drilled osis the entire time. By the end, my left osis almost felt better than my right.
Links:
left osis>paradox mirage
right osis>mirage
The first one felt really cool.
Spinning clippers are feeling better now too.
No lavers today, hopefully tomorrow.
Peace.

Got my red lavers today!!! They are really cool.
So far, I dont like them as much as my quantums. They are way cooler looking though. They seem slightly lighter, which is great. The sole is slippery like the quantums though. The inside isnt what I am used to, so they were bothering me. Right now, I cant bring myself to cut the toe box open. I know I have to, and eventually the first eyelet too. My mom doesnt want me to either, even though I warned her I would have to before we bought them. My pixie set was crap because of the walls though. They are also a little big on me, so I have to grow into them. The material isnt anywhere close to the Q2's, and when I kick with them, they dont seem to pop the bag as much, which is the reason I like to kick with quantums. So it will all take getting used to, but once I do, they will be dope. If I feel like it, I will post pics.
Nothing in shred today, just trying to adapt.
Peace.

why cut the first eyelet man? theres really no need, its really just a crutch when done by non guiltless players who havent mastered fairy or pixie sets to the point where they can do them perfect with or without toe walls haha but thats just my opinion- on the + side your mom might be happier too!
good luck and nice score with the red lavers! 8)

Played tonight with the lavers. I am really frustrated with them.
Just kicking with lavers sucks compared to quantums. The inside surface is just curvy. When I compare them to the quantums, its hard to see much difference, but I can feel it. The bag just rolls off... So far my game is mainly clipper. In my opinion, clipper moves are way more fun, and with lavers, its pretty disapointing. I will keep working with them. I need to get used to them because they will be my shred shoe for the next year or two. Havent done any mods to them, so I will possibly cut the toe walls tomorrow, once I get an answer to the thread in the beginners section.
On the plus side, the laver toe is super solid. On the quantum, they kinda slope off and the bag rolls off alot. But on lavers, the toe is very flat and not as loose.
Maybe they just need to be broken in?
Peace.

Played today for the first time in a week.
I was really suprised with how I played. I was tired, and didnt expect to be good, but everything felt solid and controlled (by my standards). Legovers just felt good, even though I havent ever really drilled them. I finally hit them back to back in shoes. Paradox mirage on right is coming around too, and left butterfly felt decent as well. On a more skilled level, ripwalk felt cool today. I dont think I am jumping hard off my right leg to make the first dex (the wrong way), so thats cool.
I relaced my lavers the normal way and have worn them to school. They are sweet. I dont want to rip them up yet. I am getting used to them, but havent really shredded in them since my last post. Just kicked.
Havent stitched at all.
Peace.

Played again today. Felt great.
Today was the most solid I think that I have ever felt. Legovers are starting to work with little drilling. I hit paradox legover both sides today. Felt awesome. Paradox mirages on my right side are starting to come around. Ripwalks felt super good today too. Spinning... not so much. Some days its on, some days its not. I am just inconsistent. Osis is feeling good, along with butterflies.
In regards to legovers: I have been putting them off for a long time now. I never really thought they looked "cool" and they were just a pain for me and weren't any fun. So I figured, I will just put them off until either they just come naturally from playing alot, or until I come to a point where I absolutely need to learn them. So lately, I have been thinking I better get to drilling legovers. I'm gonna need them soon. But sure enough, they are just starting to work. Which is cool. So now I will drill them.
Played a little in my lavers today. They are feeling better. I have to crank my ankle a ton though. I dont want to have to do the brocka mod. I will continue to just wear them around for now, until my quantums completely blow out. They are getting really close.
Peace.

Updated first post.
Played yesterday and today for about 40 minutes.
Played alright yesterday. Hit sidewalk for the first time! Felt really cool.
Today was a learning session. I didnt listen to my ipod, so instead of jamming in between moves, I thought of how I could do them better. Very beneficial. Helpful hints that I discovered that I need to make sure I do:
-Always stay on my toes: whenever I get on my heels, I drop. Mostly in osis and butterfly, and even on left mirage.
-For legovers: Set to the opposite side, rather than straight up. So when I set with my right leg, set it at a slight angle to the left. It makes the dex so much easier. Probably will work for pickups too.
So if I use those, I think my game will improve.
I also hit pixie osis today on my right. I started drilling pixie a little more today, on both sides. Its already coming around on my left.
Talked to Will Digges a little the other day on AIM. He lives like 15 minutes away! Hopefully we can hook up and shred. That would be super sweet.
Tomorrow I will stitch, as long as I can get all my homework out of the way in the morning. Waylons bags make me want to stitch!
Peace.

Amazing shredding today!
When I got home from school, I drilled legovers for about 20 minutes in my Nike Frees. They are starting to work. I think I might be getting the hang of them.
I thought of a move today that I figured I'd try: stepping same side osis. So I stepped set on my right, then osis'd right. I hit it once on right in the frees.
Later, I played for only 20 minutes, but it was a really awesome session. I hit stepping osis both sides!!!! It was really sweet. I also hit it at the end of a string, then caught it!
Also hit clipper mirage out of spinning clipper!
I drilled butterflies and osis for most of the session.
Very productive night. I'm psyched.
Peace.

Stitched a little bit yesterday. No shred this weekend. Short Track Nationals are in a month, so I am gonna cut footbag out of the schedule. I dont want to risk injury or be too tired for practices and such. I need to be on the top of my game until then. I will get back into it the weekend after. Hopefully I will be able to make it to Will's jam, but I will be rusty.
Peace.

Its been a month since I last posted and a month since I last played.
Short Track Nationals were last weekend. Despite my carefullness with not playing footbag, I still was not healthy. The week before I got Bronchitis and a Sinus infection. For the competition I had very little energy. I finished 10th out of 25. I had a lot of fun but it was super unfortunate. I had a chance to make top 5 and maybe even top 3 if I was healthy.
So today was my first day back to baggin'. I havent had a bag on my foot in nearly 2 weeks, and before that just circle kicking. I am always suprised by how I play after being out of it. Its always better than I expected. I hit DATW on my second try. Everything felt fairly solid. Played alot with my Eskimo Joe bag. I like it. Plan to start playing alot now that I have a few weeks off. I cant make Wills jam this weekend though.
Peace.

Had an awesome session on Friday and a quick one yesterday.
On Friday I played for about 45 minutes and had a ton of fun with it. My kicks feel comfortable again and everything is feeling good. Had a long drill of just alternating mirages.
Highlights:
-Stepping mirage.
-Ripstein!!
-Paradox legover
-Paradox mirage flip side.
Ripstein felt crazy good. I drilled it for a while. There is a really cool rythym that you have to learn, and once I did, it was kind of simple. Its a really fun combo. I have been drilling stepping alot just because I always thought it was an awesome concept. Hopefully I can play for a little while today.
Sometime over the next month I would love to hook up with Will Digges or Matt Kemmer and play. I am going to talk to my mom about it. That would be sick.
Skating season is over now, so I have about 3 weeks of rest before we start summer training. 3 weeks of playing footbag every day will bring me far in my game I hope. I will continue to work on consistency as my goal.

Had a decent session for about 30 minutes today as well as yesterday.
Yesterday I had to cut off my play to go help my dad, so I couldnt hit the combo I was hoping for. I knew I would hit it the next day.
So today, with a little tweaking on my pixie set, I hit pixie butterfly>ripwalk. Felt good. Both sides of my pixie are feeling decent.
Yesterday I drilled stepping a lot as well as mirages and legovers. Legovers are feeling good and so is flip mirage. Hit stepping mirage on my stong side as well.
Lately I have been learing new concepts and moves on both sides as best as I can. I see it paying off with legover and ripwalk. Both are coming along great on both sides.
I'm thinking about entering the online competition for this month. Either sick link or sick three. Maybe that link I just posted, and throw something else in there. Will see.
I really need to start stitching again. I feel guilty. I still havent finished my dads bag that I started 3 months ago for Christmas...
I have been playing with my Eskimo Joe bag and I love it. So round and sticky. I want to get a new bag as well, hopefully from Drew.
My bag is not as good as it was. Now it is to floppy and doesnt set well anymore. Time for a new one.

Had a really fullfilling session today. Just a lot of fun.
Probably played for 45 minutes.
Worked on osis a lot. Worked on stepping a lot. Worked on butterfly a lot.
Hit sidewalk on my right a few times. Couldnt seal it on my left though.
After playing for most of the session in my Q2s, I decided to try my Lavers for the first time in a month or so. Last time I tried them I was thoroughly discusted with them, so I was hesitant to try them again. But since I was feeling so good and having such a solid shred, I figured I ought to give it a go. Just laced up sneaker style, no mods. I have to say, I really loved them today! I hit everything I have hit in my Q2s on them. They are just more solid then quantums. The toe is stiff and doesnt bank to the side like the quantums, and overall its just a stronger and more perfect shoe. I am getting used to the insides, which are more angular than the quantums. I even hit DATW in them! I cant wait to start shredding in these more often. With a few mods I know they will be great. I still dont want to rip them up just yet. My quantums have plenty of life in them.
Peace.

Had a good session today with the lavers. I love them!
I really need to mod them, maybe this weekend.
Drilled osis the entire time from toe set and from clipper set. Both are starting to become good.
I have a great idea for a goal over the summer. I will post it soon, I want it at the top of the next page.
Hack season has begun during lunch in school. I have already made a name for myself. Haha.
Hopefully I will be able to stitch this weekend.
Peace.

I have done nothing footbag related in months...
I gotta get back into it, stitching at least. I've had very little motivation or interest in the sport.
Its strange to think of the obsession it was just a few months ago, to now being just a thought.

As far as my speedskating goes, I am training extremely hard. It leaves me with zero energy to shred, and thats the main reason why the sport has left my life.

With my extra time this summer, maybe I will stitch.
Peace.
