Decided it is time to drill the basics and stop trying to progress without a strong foundation.
Been reading these over quite a bit:
10 common form mistakes
http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=20968
Top 10 drills for progression
http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=22608
(Thank you Jorden for posts like these!)
I made a promise that I won't learn a new trick until I have the top 10 drills down. I recorded myself yesterday attempting them and half of them were not even close. I will make and upload weekly or monthly (I have not decided yet) progression videos. After that it will be a climb up the ADD ladder, no jumping either. I feel like this is the way I should have started footbag. So many people said to get the basics down and I just assumed they would come naturally. WRONG!
For those who wish nothing but the worst for me:

Also my new best friends are a new ipod shuffle ($46), Dr. Scholls Athletic inserts ($10 @ WalMart), and using a running track with a rubber foundation (Free).

So I am waiting to get on my flight from Vegas back to Phoenix. Did a pleasure trip here for a couple of hours to kick with Evan Gatesman. The dude is god like. We hit up a video poker bar and I left $11 up. Feels good, man. Evan pointed a lot of things out for me and really helped my game. I could see myself coming out here more often.
Left clippers are feeling better and I am not dropping as much. Now I feel like blabbing. I am a lightweight, 4 drinks is too much. This was a good trip.

Ken: I would love to visit Denver even when it is cold!
Today I had a 4 hour shredding session with Kendall. It was probably the best session I have ever had. I am starting to connect a lot of stuff I never could. Evan Gatesman suggested that I practice clipper to mirage and legovers. I have all of those on my strong and flip side pretty consistently.
I landed some tricks that I dont know the names to.
Clipper to mirage to legover in 1 move (or something like that).
Actually that is the only new trick.
It was a great time!

I have to leave to work right now so this will be short.
Last night was the 3rd heavy footbag day in a row (more than 4 hours). Clocked in 5 hours between the Phoenix weekly shred and a post-shred shred that lasted an hour. Here are a few of the highlights from when the camera was rolling:

This was the first night that my flip side clipper felt just as natural as my strong side. It is about f*cking time. Towards the end there I could barely move my legs.
Do you guys see anything, style-wise, that is screaming out that it is incorrect?
This is what I see I need to work on:
Set height for tricks. I want them to all be about hip height.
Set location. I feel like the footbag still goes where IT wants to at times.
Ripwalk ending butterfly needs to be cradled. I just learned that trick so I will work on it.
It feels like I am hopping around way too much when doing clipper to legovers.
Those are the main things that I feel needs work. Ideas?

Zombie walk in Phoenix. I was able to sneak in a couple of seconds of footbag.

First time kicking in a while, and first time kicking in a 3 man group in Arizona. Conrad Rustad, Kendall Bain, and I kicked at Tempe Beach Park for a good two hours before I went to work. It was awesome and I missed this sport. Been wanting to head up to Vegas soon.
Going to Six Flags on Superbowl Sunday. Will snag some footage there.
Time to catch up on these forums.
