Jorden's Journal

Post by Jorden » 10 Jul 2004 10:49

Hey,

I finally decided to make one of these. If you'd like to take a look at my bio, it's on our club's site:
http://hack-bfa.com/members/jorden.html

My fearless record is currently 7: fairy ducking butter > blurry whirl > blurry whirl > PS whirl > PS whirl > spinning whirl > pdx blender.

My top tricks (Hit once or more) are:

- liquifier
- stepping ducking voodoo (hit this for the 2nd time last week -- clean w/ hand catch 8) )
- mullet rake
- alpine food
- fairy diving blender
- montage
- symp. whirling gyro blender

And this last one was kinda fluky:

- wonton quantum butterfly

There was one magic day last month where I could get both dexes uptime. Tried since but no prevail.

Sorry for all the bragging.

-=Sat. June 10, 2004=-

Yesterday night I had a great solo session. My new Abshire has really started to clean up my sloppy sets and help with triple dexes. I hit flip sumo, which had been bugging me for a while. From the past 3 days:

- smog BSOS
- blaze BSOS
- sumo (both sides, finally)
- alpine smudge (both sides) 8)
- parkwalk > stepping osis > pdx drifter > spinning pickup
- tomahawk + (almost) ripped warrior BSOS

Not entirely new, but still felt good :) :

- bedwetter BSOS
- whirr BSOS
- clean pdx torques BSOS
- haze (both sides)
- alpine blurry whirl
- janiwalker BSOS
- predator

-=Mon. July 12th, 2004=-

Had a 3-hour late-night shred yesterday. Highlights:

- ripped warrior > ripped warrior + blurry whirl > blurry whirl (same combo!)
- stepping voodoo midrun
- 4 consec. PS whirls
- mxyzptlk (with a real bubba dex)
- maverick > torque > infinity > blur > parkwalk > sidewalk > schmoe > magellan > smear > smudge > dimwalk > sidewalk > schmoe > parkwalk > pdx whirl > ripwalk > ripwalk (looks like part of a shred30 routine  )
- 25 sec of my Worlds routine nailed (gettin' there...)

And toe stuff like:
fairy same pickup > fairy same mirage > fairy same mirage > fear > atom smasher > omelette (into a run)

Really really good shred yesterday.

- stepping voodoo (BOTH SIDES!!) <--- first flip 7 add!
- ducking royale 8O (If it's new, I'd like to call it "royale flush")
- spikehammer and pdx blender, both BSOS same run
- a run with blurry grifter and mobius
- pdx torque BSOS + flip tombstone in a run

Been totally skooling my routine. Up to about 1:35 dropless.

i would give you more props but i whenever you post new moves i have no idea what they are  You always have these crazy name moves which i have never heard of b/c no one hits them (b/c they are insane) and they are way too hard for me to even understand. hah. But they sound really cool and i bet they are 6 or 7 adds so HOLY SHIT good job!

ur so good i'm gonna tape you at worlds

Jorden--wouldn't stepping voodoo only be a 6?

I believe it would only be a 6 add, yeah. Voodoo is 5 adds normally, so stepping wouldn't throw in an xdex. Atomic blur WOULD get the xdex (I think??), but it would also only be 6 adds because of the loss of paradox. Try atomic blur sometime, or even nuclear blur? :P

Jorden: I normally live in Oakville, which as you know is really reaally close to where you live. I'm not usually there though because I'm at school in kingston 8 months of the year.

BUT, from worlds till september I will be in Oakville and driving regularly to shred with you, because I said so.

And yes, I will see you at worlds!

I'm pretty sure voodoo is worth 6 adds, although it may be listed as 5. Same as an atom smasher is widely known as a 3 add, but with xdex it clearly is 4. Those were very valid points and I'm glad you brought them up.

Stepping Voodoo (IMO):

-=Sat. July 17th, 2004=-

Today I hit a MASSIVE run of about 40 contacts!!! It had pdx drifter both sides, torque, sidewalk, PS whirl, and a bunch of other stuff I don't remember. I was getting too giddy at the end that I couldn't concentrate and bailed to a toe stall.

Finally landed my routine dropless -- with only one bail.

I'm gonna remember this day -- that's for damn sure. :D

I thought voodoo didn't get xdex... Hm, whatever. Regardless, MASSIVE PROPS -- my favorite move along with armageddeon and chainsaw massacre (others you should try!).

Hey Jorden,

cool moves, props etc etc :D

Hey have you tried doing a fully downtime blur without making the second mirage symposium? Has anyone else tried this for that matter I know on "The Move" Ahren was trying blurry blur and the blur was totally downtime (I think he's hit it like ages before that too), I was mucking around at some dark hour if the early morning and even though I'm nowhere near it I figured someone with some leg control would be able to hit it no problems.

So are you up for the challenge? No uptime, no backside symposium just straight downtime ... downtime rocks (sorry Mr Mirken :P)

Lets see if we can get it on tape at worlds, only 5 days away for me

Like usual very sick stuff, especially the long run, and the dropless routine. I like the name Royale Flush too!

Didn't Ales hit Paradox Blur in Ryan Thomass' Chilly Philly video?

I'll work downtime blur for Worlds. The timing isn't a problem for me, it's making the 2nd dex clean. Not sure if I've hit it cleanly yet.

Hey really cool stuff Jorden, especially this move:
Wonton Quantum Butterfly. Reverse Warp set is enourmas!!! 8O

Also - slightly hijacking your blog sorry - I've tried blurry blur like Ahren does it on "the move" - haven't hit it yet but it's a damn cool!
