Today, I have

1. Successfully defended my PhD thesis,
2. Secured a gig coding an online testing site for the university, and
3. Received confirmation that the rec centre will give me 1000 NZD to go to Portland!

Life eh?
Congrats on your PhD, that was quick no? Next time we see each other, I propose we address each other by "Herr Doktor" only.
Good to hear you are still playing. I can't bring myself to shred alone these days. Are you still riding as well? Started to do the first steps towards my motorbike driving licence. Don't know how long it will take: I decided to do the theory test in Hebrew, just because :>.

It was just over four years, which is average I hear. I am working on revisions now and am planning to submit them in a few days. Almost there! Herr Doktor it is, Dok.

So does that mean you haven't been kicking? I still think about kicking in Japan when you were there. Actually I have been thinking about what you said about playing smart a lot recently and am trying to emulate.

I had that Harley in Welly for like a year but sold it, so no, no riding unfortunately. I have been on Dave's though, a 500cc Royal Enfield which is nice. Getting another bike is definitely on the radar though.

Is the bike license a pain where ever the hell you are?

I knew you would appreciate that picture.

No, I haven't been playing at all this year. Before getting fat, I started to get into the basics of tricking though, with the ultimate goal to invent some crazy footbag trick. I also realized there that I have to "think" more before trying a trick, because not hitting might imply hitting the floor with your face. It seems to me actually that footbag might be a good cross training just for stamina, so I'll hope to combine practice of both soon.

I'm in Tel Aviv these days, and noticed that taking riding lessons here is much cheaper than Germany or Switzerland. And if you survive Israel on a motorbike, you'll survive everywhere...

Looking forward to that! I think footbag needs more unique ideas implemented.

Awesome! One day you and I will have to ride together. Maybe even get a hack while we are at it...

Finals!

Congratulations, that's awesome. I haven't seen the routine so I don't have much more to say. I also heard you went dropless on the first round. A good appearance!

Agreed. Wiktor said he would give us money, but I reckon we should talk with Houdini as well and make it happen. I am keen as!

Bruce would love for us to go there for sure. I bet our chances of this happening would increase a lot if we thought of the itinerary and brought it to the IFPA.
