hey,

I don't think the pendulum was clean. if you were facing the camera when the bag left your foot, it would be pendulum. however, you spun as you swung the bag back, and you were facing the footbag when you released it, which makes it not so much a pendulum, more of a strange toe set.

looking forward to more weird moves, keep them coming!

Okay, thanks, I'll try to do it otherwise and to improve 'my' set.
Well, if I had more skills...perhaps I could come up with more strange moves..But I was surprised by the hit of this move ^^ It was just forming in my head and I tried...and yea, here we are :)

I'll keep up working on it.

stepping set to reverse whirl

Post by stephanos » 19 May 2008 16:05

ok, am i not seeing something here...???

Blurry Whirl (Stepping Paradox Whirl)
5 adds

Stepping Opposite Side Reverse Whirl
4 adds

besides the reverse, which i dont think matters, are these things not the same???i looked at the video demo for blurry whirl and it was exactly what i pictured a stepping opp side whirl as (which doesnt have a video demo on footbag.org) is this a mistake??? or am i blind to the obvious? they randomly add in a [pdx] in the jobs, but otherwise they are basically the same.

one trick is stepping op side whirl
the other trick is stepping op side REVERSE whirl

a whirl dex is in to out - far whirl gets pdx
a rev whirl is out to in - far reverse while does not get pdx

I bet searching this forum and/or google for a definition of pdx will explain this more. I think most people try to simplify it to pdx = double hip pivot but I believe it's more complicated than this.

cause i know that in dyno and in blender thy are worth the same so i figured it was always like that. but im getting into pdx stuff which is above my head with all those rules...well thank you very much i never would have guessed that, though i have heard about the hip thing.

what would be a toe set drifter with no plant after the set?

Its like a drifter, but rather than the clipper set, its from a toe and directly after the toe you do the drifter dex without a plant of the toe setting foot.

"Plantless sameside drifter" (if it's downtime).

you could think of it as a hippy dyno ending on dragon, or a legover ending on dragon osis. Jon Schneider has really nice ones.

jobs is

toe > op out [dex] > back spin [bod] > dragon [del][xbd]

Sam and I have been wondering about this.

If it's the setting foot that does the dex, is that not simply a pixie clipper? Or does it need to be downtime in order to be a pixie? I thought it was planting that took away the title.

If the setting foot isn't the same foot that dexes, isn't it considered symposium?

if the dex happens on the way up, it is pixie clipper. if the footbag is set, and you wait for it to be falling before you start the move, it would be a plantless same side drifter.

if the other foot was to set, as you mentioned, it would by a SYMPLE drifter, not symposium.

with drifter, the leg that dexes also catches, so you can't land on it again and catch it normally at the same time. moves like that, where the dex and final delay are done by the same foot, like legover, pickup, drifter, blender, dyno, etc etc etc, can be done SYMPLE, but not SYMPOSIUM.

Symple is where you do a big symposium style jump on the above-mentioned moves, but you still land on the other foot, and catch with the dexing leg.

I've done this with a double out-in dex before. What would it be called then?

Okay I've got another one. I'm really surprised I could find it in the Moves Nickname List. What's a double dex Illusion called? Double Illusion?

nuke mobius doesn't have a nickname. A nickname would be totally useless too.
