Attack the whirl so it is completed midtime. Use the explosive power of the whirl and focus that into the flowing swirl which should be natural and not forced. The swirling leg should be in motion just as the whirling dex is traveling in a downward motion. Thats how I do it at least.

Youve probable noticed that with diving clippers you have to start the "dex" while the bag is rising. Whirling is the same way, you should have the dexing leg directly over the bag at its peak. Try to focus on starting the swirl as soon as possible. Youre the man Henry!

make sure to lean away from the whirl and kind of bend the swirl leg's knee before attacking the swirl HARD. By bending that knee, you'll charge the muscle to attack the swirl dex after the peaktime whirl. Skool symple swirl. Good luck. hope this helps, matty

Whirling Swirl

Post by Zac Miley » 05 Feb 2009 20:01

Not really for tips, but I'd take some since I suck at this trick.

I'm mostly curious why Whirling Swirl doesn't get x dex?

swirl is a half dex, not a full dex.

take atom smasher for example. the second dex goes all the way around the bag to the opposite toe. same with toe blur, merlin, etc. whirling swirl is not this way.

Tips

The way I learned this is to do a quick whirl, but halfway through it do a symple swirl. So start the second dex before the first one ends.

Oh, my bad Ken. I checked the master list. Guess I should have used the search function.

Also, I always thought swirl was a full dex for some reason.

Thanks!

it is if it's set from and caught on the other foot, like in far symp twirl / rev twirl.

Be QUICK.

Set and then IMMEDIATELY plant your clipper foot, the IMMEDIATELY start your symple swirl. Your whirl will just have to fit itself in there somewhere. In approaching this trick in this "explosive" way, you might run across the problem of lossing control of your dexes and having you feet flail wildly, so as a side not make sure they are as tight and as controlled as possible.

Of course I don't need to tell you that your whirls and symple swirls should be solid.

Practice practice practice.
