Pixie Same Pickup [muted]

Post by Derek » 06 Sep 2012 19:08

Tried this today while just screwing around for 10 minutes, I thought it would help with my DATW(in-to-out). Which I guess it did. My reason behind this post is, is this move, as is, considered a DATW? I can modify it a bit so I know for sure it's a DATW, just was wondering if I could keep doing it this way and actually call it a DATW(in-to-out)?

I guess you can kinda say it's a crispy DATW. At the beginning of may, I hit pixie ss double pickup. I'd like to call it some form of TATW (crispy), but I personally have trouble getting myself to haha.

I'm not too familiar with the term "crispy" when describing a move, care to enlighten me? So I take it I shouldn't go around calling it a DATW? Oh darn. Hah. Duuuude, I would so want to call that a TATW, mainly cause TATW is so crazy dope. Totally just gave me a goal to set out for though, grazi 8) !

Daryl Genz does triple around the world that way. He claims it as "hippy tatw", but I wouldn't call it that. I would have to call it pixie muted same double pickup because of the pause between dexes: http://www.freedomfootbags.com/blog/tri ... ppy-style/

Yeah, I see what you mean with that. Just with the single though, it's easier to make it flow better. I will refer to it as it's real name though.

Derek, crispy refers to a trick that can be done with a fluid motion essentially, but is done with the uptime set then downtime component instead. But yeah, a fluid, legit TATW would be awesome haha

Ohhh, ok, I get it now. I will hit one within the next year hopefully. Footed one in socks once, but shoes slow me down quite a bit.

Playing in socks is one of my favorite things, other than at that point I have NO Clipper game. But, my toe game is actually improved a wee bit, can actually Eggbeater without shoes.

It would be confusing if you called it "DATW" but I think it probably does help to do this on the way to DATW. The next step is just to keep reducing the pause between dexes until it's unnoticeable (and reducing the height of the set, as part of this, until it doesn't come above your knee when raised dexing). I didn't learn datw like this, but I did learn a few similar moves starting with crispy muted versions and working my way towards a more fluid version (ie. flurry as whirling ss dlo).
