I think it's fine. You can learn important things about tricks by doing them different ways, including with or without shoes. Just remember that you will have less time and more weight resistance performing the same trick with shoes (which is the way you'll be hitting the trick when you actually play). I learned double switchovers in bare feet and was able to transfer the skill (somewhat) to playing in shoes. It was a tough trick on my knees to practice in shoes, but barefeet made it a lot more doable and allowed me to figure out the trick and the nuances of the required movements without hurting my body as much.
