honestly, my chemical romance is my least favorite group that produces sound. I say this because they dont qualify in my book as musical artists

saying "jumping on the band wagon" isnt necissarily the best way to approach this, maybe he likes their music. and just because they are "popular" to the youngn's nowadays doesnt make them anyless of artists. My chemical romance puts together decent harmonic melodies, im not saying i like them, but obviously they are not popular based solely on thier look.

something to think about ;)

oh yeah...

some mcr is okay with me, some of it is a little to emo for my tastes though, same with blue october, but i really like thier recent (the dark side of the ocean? or something like that)

Geez everybody you don't have to rip on this kid over some band he likes.

I can't stand those bands either but that doesn't mean you have to give him a hard time and personally insult the kid. To each their own, if he likes those bands and you don't SO WHAT. How would you like it if you made a post about your favorite band(s) and people just responded telling you that they sucked and that you were a dork for liking them?

Image
If you don't like them just don't post anything. He'll get the idea that no one else here is into them when no one responds to his post.

If we want to get new people into footbag we can't act like dicks every time newbies make posts on this forum.

A little common courtesy, please.

I, really can't stand AFI. However, My Chemical Romance isn't too bad.

I can't stand people that just tear down new music groups, just because they're coming out with new ideas.

I hear alot of shit about The Fray, My Chemical Romance, and alot of newer groups... but why? It's music, pretty good music too. Just because something's not your favorite genre of music, doesn't mean they suck or not are talented.

AFI is a good group, but I dont' like their singer. He makes that "ong" sound in his voice when he sings, and that just irritates me. :?

The only music I won't give any credence to is those "butt-fucking" groups. There's alot of those groups that "rap" about nothing but sex, drugs, and money. Gets really sickening. I refuse to listen to that one song, "Money in the Bank" or somethin' like that. Ok, so you got money in the back, but you have, no talent of any kind. Can't get much more shallow than that.

But my chemical romance and bands like them (and even bands like fallout boy and panic at the disco) are so fucking annoying and whiny and emo that i just want to jab a dull spoon into my ear drum

Oh and ben, i didnt throw any personal insults at the kid. I just said i hate my chemical romance.

Emo? Lol, hardly.

Fall Out Boys, The Fray, My Chemical Romance, they're all really good bands to listen to if you're feeling down, just got out of a break up, or anything like that. They're also good for listening to when you think about your significant other, or better yet, when you're with your significant other. They're just really good groups for romance and stuff like that.

If you're not lucky enough to have any emotional attachments to anybody, I'm sorry, but that doesn't mean you should take it out on the topic creator. Or maybe you seriously just don't like these bands. Same outcome. You don't need to be so aggressive about it.

People are starting to classify things "emo" way too lightly recently. Anytime any song about love or romance, or something bad happening comes on the radio... "OMG!! OMG!!1!11!, EMO-ZORZ111!!!1!1!" It's getting to the point where someone's going to blurt out, "EMO!" the next time Far Away by NickleBack comes on. And I may not big a huge fan of NickleBack... but they're not emo by any means.

And what's wrong with being emo anyway? What if I don't like "led heads"? Should I run around shitting on everyone that listens to Led Zepplin? No. I personally think that a lot of things that Ozzy sings (or... rather screams/roars/gurgles/etc) are pretty dumb, but I don't tell my Dad that his music sucks, or anyone else for that matter.

And the only reason I don't tell those stupid idiots that wear white shirts down to their knees, and wear their pants down to their knees, and where hunks of shinny plastic around their necks, and wear tin foil on their teeth, to shut up and quit pretending to have any talent other than bball, is because I'm pretty sure that eventually, I'll run into one stupid enough to shank/shoot/rape me. :(

I like AFI... though not really their most recent album....its a little light for my tastes. Go back to Very Proud of Ya and The Art Of Drowning.....thats the good shit. Much less emo, way more punk. Kinda the same thing with MCR....their new stuff isn't very good, but Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge wasn't to bad.

What? That doesn't make sense.

And I didn't say anything about hip hop artists or rappers. Hip hop artists and rappers are really cool. Just not the posers on the radio, that speak of nothing but sex/drugs/money.

I love hip hop and rap. Very good genres of music to shred to, even better to dance to. (Visionaries, Hilltop Hoods, Blackalicious, and many others, they're all really good.)

And I didn't get mad at you for saying you hate MCR. I'm not mad at all. I just pointed out that you don't need to be so aggressive about it. If you don't like it, you don't like it, that's your opinion. But you don't need to pick it apart and try to tear it down.

I'll d/l some of that and check it out. I never really listened to anything but AFI's new album, cause I'd never heard of them before the "Love Like Winter" music vid.

I cant be aggressive over something i dislike with such a passion? where is the fun in that ? If i cant voice my simple hatred of a shitty band on this forum, why can you constantly flame people with distasteful insults over something that doesnt matter? (just as much as me hating this band doesnt matter :) )

i think the lead singer of my chemical romance sounds so emotional and on the verge of tears all the time that its hard to listen to. other than that, the guitar riffs and stuff are good sometimes.

the whole idea about "emo" music being in touch with its feelings is crap. so much other music is about love and emotions, it just isn't forced in all the lyrics.

I agree. They're a decent group, I just think they could've did the vocals better.

Edit: Off topic, but I just listened to an awesome song by Hilltop Hoods, "City of Light." Damn good song. I love that group. 8)
