Post the music that makes you smile.

Post by Switch Kicker » 25 Oct 2007 05:38

I'm sure everyone has a type of music, or even just an individual song that when it comes on, no matter what mood you're in, you can't help but smile.

I have a lot of songs like this. One of my favorite ones is "Jump Around" by House of Pain. Because it's really up beat, it's people having mindless and pointless fun, it's really not about anything other than losing your mind.

So post your song or type of music (It'd be better to have a specific song.) that makes you smile no matter what, and then why. Unless it's some personal... thing that you don't wanna share with others, that's cool too.

Edit: "Hey Jude" The Beatles.

And I can't forget this... "Candyman" Aqua. Nothing's more funny than 4 19 and 20 year old guys in a suburban with the system cranked, windows down, all rocking their heads, singing to the lyrics, to that song... Sometimes in broad daylight. The trip to our destination is usually more fun than the destination itself.

I've got something in my front pocket for you,
Why don't you reach in there, and see what it is,
I've got something in my front pocket for you,
Give it a little squeeze, and say "how do ya do?".

Ohhh, Butters. That one goes on my list as well

Oh. My favorite minute-long song would have to be Dwayne from "Home Movies" using Brendan's broken assed guitar to take 2nd place in "Guitarmageddon". That tapping riff just warms my heart. For realliously though. I have it on my MP3 player and listen to it all the time. :D

Theres a lot of music that makes me feel this way, so here goes.

On Fire (Switchfoot)
24 (Switchfoot)
Forgiven (Reliant K)
The Pirates that Don't do Anything (Reliant K)
Fearless, 250 and Dark Stars (Falling Up)
Maps (Falling Up)
How they Made Cameras (Falling Up)
Deathbed (Reliant K)
Falling in Love (Falling Up)
Contact, both remixed and original versions (Falling Up)
Helicopters (Falling Up)
Captiva (Falling Up)
Break me Down (Red)
Pieces (Red)
Already Over (Red)
Lifesong (Casting Crowns)
What if his People Prayed (Casting Crowns)
If we are the Body (Casting Crowns)
Praise you in This Storm (Casting Crowns)
Does Anybody Hear Her (Casting Crowns)
Umbrella (Scott Simons)
Gravity (Shawn McDonald)
Take my Hand (Shawn McDonald)
Spoken For (MercyMe)
Here am I (MercyMe)
Hold Fast (MercyMe)
Perspectives (Kutless)
Sea of Faces (Kutless)
Word of God Speak (MercyMe, Kutless)
Arms of Love (Kutless)
Strong Tower (Kutless)
All who are Thirsty (Kutless)

Theres a lot more, but i don't want to list anymore, to much. Whenever i listen to any one of those songs i get a good feeling. I love listening to the lyrics and relating to them. Lyrics are the most important part of music for me. I believe everything these singers communicate through their music, and thats why i love listening and singing along to them so much.

Three Days Grace is really really good stuff.

Eric Clapton is good shiz too. "More Than Words" is really good/bad for emotional breakups. Good/bad because some ppl just hurt more when listening to sad/love songs. They always lift my mood and make me smile though.
