Online Fun String Ranking - Post your string!

Post by BalinorNZ » 22 Jun 2005 15:26

Online Fun string Ranking

You can post your best unique string's here and be ranked against the rest of the players who post on this forum!

What is a unique string?
Strings where no moves are repeated on the same side are unique. Ie mirage>legover>mirage>legover is a unique run because none of those 4 moves are hit twice on the same side.
The strings are judged on contacts not on add value, so the aim is to hit strings as long as you can, not nessisarily as hard!

This is how it works:
You hit a string as long as you can that follows the rules of the particular competition, and post it on this thread.
The strings value is the total adds in the string. Contacts is how many moves you hit. There is a top10 for each event.

Fun Events:
ALL STRINGS MUST BE UNIQUE
Dexless - your string must contain no moves with dexterity components.
Double Dex - your string must contain only moves with TWO dex's each.
Tripple Dex - your string must contain only moves with THREE dex's each.
Toe Run - you can only use your toes as the delaying surface for any move in your string.
Clipper Run - you can only use clipper as the delaying surface for any move in your string.
Unique Delays - strings may only contain delay components, stall the bag in as many different places as you can!
Unique Sets - strings must contain as many consecutive unique sets as possible (toe/clipper set don't count as sets).
Unique Symps - your string must contain as many consecutive unique symposium moves as possible!
Unique Downtime - your string is allowed to contain no sets apart from toe and clipper.

Could you enter my guiltless entry from the guiltless comp and enter it as my dexless entry?

For triple dexes: ewalk-fog-pig-smog-paradon swirl.

The competition is to have the most contacts!! (so no limit :P)

Toe shuffle is when you do toe moves with an uptime and downtime dex:

so something like - smear>fear>tap>toe blur etc. - not just general toe moves.

I'll go try to set records for all the events now! If I'm quick I can hold the "dexless shred" for a few minutes (until somebody notices my name at the top and realises how embarressing that is for everybody else ;) )

Sorry for the double post - quick question.

With "unique double dex" - are we just talking moves with 2 dexes? Or are we talking moves with two dexes done in one action on the same leg - ie paradon>barrage>double swtich over?

I tend to think of "double dex" moves as the latter - but the description suggests the former...

Huzzah - triple post :D

I realise Ken has flogged my dexless. I had a go at most of the things though and here are my results:

Dexless:
dive clip>duck clip>dive clip>duck clip>spin clip>spin osis (I've hit that with osis>osis at the end before but I think results should only count if they were done after the comp...)
score: 19 Contacts: 6

Double Dex (presuming it just needs to be moves with 2 dexes)
Ripwalk>blur>parkalk>sidewalk>shmoe>magellan>smear>pixie ss mirage>magellan>smear>pixie ss mirage>pixie switch>pixie switch>tap>atomsmasher>tap>atomsmasher.
Score: 57 Contacts: 17

Triple Dex
Fog>smog>pixie tap>dominatrix
Score: 18 Contacts: 4

Toe Shuffle
Fairy ss mirage>fairy ss mirage>smear>pixie ss mirage>smear>pixie ss mirage>magellan>pixie switch>magellan>pixie switch>tap>atomsmasher>tap>atomsmasher>atomic legover>smog.
Score: 51 Contacts: 16

Symposium
Whirlygig>beta blur>beta smear>symp mirage>witchdoctor>symp whirl
Score 27 Contacts: 6

Unique set
Matador>ripwalk>blur>assassin>pixie switch>pixie switch>atomsmasher>tap (I hope pixie set and pixie ducking set count as uniques :P)
Score: 30 Contacts: 8

Downtime
Barrage>paradon>drifter>whirl>drifter>whirl>down double down>butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage>paradon.
Score 39 Contacts: 12

I could defintily beat most of those but didn't want to spend too long on each. Also I wrote out the combos so in some instances I could easily have hit a move with a higher add value but didn't because it would have made it impossible to link the next move (which I didn't hit)

Jeremy - double dexing and tripple dexing mean any unique move that involves 2 or 3 dexes respectively. (eg for doubles: fear>dlo>butterfly swirl>spanishfly>blurry torque)

Thanks for pointing out what toe shuffle actaully means, changed name to 'toe run'.

Does anyone think I should make toe run guiltless? I just made it tiltless because there are alot more moves you can do that are tiltless on toes than you can on clippers :s.

There is no limit on contacts...

Thanks for your entrys guys! You are really great at participating in these things! Props for that!

Updating now...

Right rankings are updated!

Congratulations Ken and Jeremy on your placings! I will endevour to get some records tomorrow to put up! The only one I probably wont do will be symp lol.

Do you think that the value for double and tripple dexing should be total dexes instead of total adds? Are tripple dex clipper moves really harder than triple dex toe? I think toe are harder? So maybe the value should not be measured in adds? I dunno.

Just a note, Ken hit fog (blurry dlo), not haze (stepping dlo).

Thanks for keeping an eye out Sam ;) Nice to know some people read these!

The reason I put stepping dlo is because it implies pdx, if I had said stepping ss dlo it would be a bit different. Blurry dlo is a clearer name anyway so I corrected it ;)
I did cound it as a 5 when calculating the value.

Wait a minute.
Pixie is a set.
Pixie Ducking is a set (different set than just Pixie).
Ducking? Is it a set?

Clarification on Unique sets event:

The uptime component of any move is counted as a set.
The only set's disallowed are normal toe and clipper sets.
Ducking and diving are counted as set components they must be included with another legal set (ie not just toe or clipper) to be counted as a unique set.
example:
These sets are unique: pixie, pixie ducking, spinning, spinning ducking etc.
Ducking and Diving when not combined with another set are counted as downtime components.

I hope that clears that up :)

Triple dexes:

Pixie Tap > Smog > Pigbeater (or Pigbeater > Smog - I don't remember)
Michał Biarda (Me-how Be-r-da)

No, stepping does not imply paradox. :P Stepping paradox implies stepping paradox, as well as blurry. For example, stepping mirage is clip>op in>same in>op toe. Stepping ss is not a term that's used.

Ok sam, I guess we both have different opinions on the matter, I think that [set, component] implies its oposite leg (eg fairy mirage = fear) you think different, its not a problem.

Let's try to keep this thread to competition related discussion, if you are still unhappy please PM me about it and we can discuss it on msn or something :).

Just you wait Jeremy! Ill whip out some badass links tomorrrow!
