So what exactly are you saying here? That people shouldn't do it? It's "bad for the game"?Turn It Up wrote: Street hacking would, inevitably, bring this physical risk in to the sport. Fuck that.
Street a component?

I gave up skateboarding before I realy even started, cos I didn't have the balls to drop into a halfpipe. But I still like to watch it.
The same with Street. I don't like the thought of doing a flail off a picknick bench (like Chris Pinkis), myself... But I still like to watch it.
Footbag is about pushing limits and spitting in the face of gravity and I think the sport will develop and evolve how it will. I don't think anyone will be able to dictate the future and I doubt anyone is game enough to make a prediction, either.

I would purport that adds have generally been accepted as a decent measure of difficulty (They're the best thing we seem to have found so far). One could also easily claim that they are worthless and stupid and not worth arguing over, as there is no way (as of yet) to quantify true difficulty. All that aside, I think street tricks deserve an extra add, and here's why: It comes down to the most fundemental aspect of "add", what is an add? Paraphasing Kenny, "An add is a element of difficulty in ADD-ition to a basic kick." Is a basic kick done jumping off a picnic table an additional level of difficulty beyond a basic kick? In my opinion, hell yea. Of course, I think actually defining what constitutes an add would be very difficult to quantify in street tricks... I could see a two foot vertical considered an extra, and have additional "leaps" it be sort of proportional to gravity. 2 feet = 1, 4 feet = 3, 6 feet = 6... something like that. Well, I gotta go - let's have it: Tear me up! Peace.

Are you trying to say these pains aren't truly serious? I know of two guys who have torn various ligaments around the knees and a guy who cracked the bone of his foot. They couldn't play for like four or five months. Footbag is just as dangerous as any other sport. Street is just another danger. I would give street tricks another add but its not up to me to decide, so I won't.I think one of the great things about footbag, presently, is the lack of risk of pain (other than, of course, in the knees and ankles.)

Play Footbag with a passion, it only gets better.

yes thats true. any move could get you injured.
injury may come when people stretch without strengthening to counteract the weakening of the muscle when you stretch. i've gotten alot of random muscle from judo, and i think it helps me in everyday life. i can fall from high places onto my back/hip/ankle/wherever, and usually not get hurt. muscle is the key to not breaking bones. stretching is the key to not pulling/tearing muscle. but you cant do one without the other.
