unless you're me. my shred 30 has 1 spin and 3 downtime moves, so it's 88% shuffle.Jeremy wrote:... despite the myth that shred 30s these days are all about shuffle - at best less than half the shred 30 is shuffle...
any way, just wanted to say that i think this is a very cool idea and i hope people continue to keep it updated as the years go by. getting all the past worlds shred 30 scores up there would be cool as well, we could see the time line and progression of shred 30 through the ages, pinpoint when shred really started to take off, and eventually see when the scores can't get any higher.

I think a main thing that has changed sindce like 2003 is that more people are regularly starting to get over 200 in shred 30, and not just Vasek.
In 2003, Vasek was the only one who got above 200
In 2004, Vasek, Honza got above 200
In 2005, Vasek, Honza, Jorden got about 200, and in semi's i think about 7 or 8 did.

Well I'm editing this post for the moment but Lon seems to think it's a good idea to have on his records site. I think it's good to have a bottom limit though, any thoughts?any way, just wanted to say that i think this is a very cool idea and i hope people continue to keep it updated as the years go by. getting all the past worlds shred 30 scores up there would be cool as well, we could see the time line and progression of shred 30 through the ages, pinpoint when shred really started to take off,
200? 180? 175? 150?
I don't think going under 150 is worthwhile though as there would be a LOT of entries I think. Maybe 175 is a good milestone?

Agreed. For the record, 2005 had a TON of 200+ scores. I know this because in the first round I scored 195, and 6 people had better scores than me. In the second round, I scored 193, and 7 people had better scores than me. And in Finals, I scored 197, and 3 people scored better than me. Based on that, I think 1st round had 6 200+, 2nd had 7 200+, and finals had 3 200+Uranos wrote:I think a main thing that has changed sindce like 2003 is that more people are regularly starting to get over 200 in shred 30, and not just Vasek.

As for Max's idea of recording all scores, having a cutoff point of 200 sounds OK to me. Anything below 200 isn't that notable in my opinion.

Ok, well in light of Ken's and Andrew's posts above, everyone please feel free to submit scores of 200 or more in the following format:
SCORE | PLAYER | DATE | EVENT | VIDEO LINK (if existing)
Winning scores for past competitions are also accepted even below 200. Finally, a link to where you found the score on would be nice too.

While I'm flattered to be so high on that list, you should check out my last post in this thread:
LOTS of 200+ scores there.C-Fan wrote: For the record, 2005 had a TON of 200+ scores.

I have the following scores:
CSS7 - 208 (1st place)
GRASS 05 - 202 (1st place)
Spike and Shred 06 - 203.3 (2nd place)
East Coasts 06 - 221.8 (1st place)
I personally feel anything under 210 is lame nowadays with everyone hitting so big. I really think a list of everyone who's broken 200 is just too much. I'd make the cut 225 to be honest. Good idea though.

Yeah, I think a better cutoff than 200 is needed. You can screw up and still exceed 200, but a 220+ score means 0-1 drops, and that it was planned. That said, I think the top 20 scores are already mostly over 210, so once the list increases (like, after US Open and Worlds this summer) the top 20 will all be over 210-220 anyway.
Oh, here are this year's Euros results:

Vasek's 257 makes the list.

OK, I just updated the first post. Man, that took a while.
One more note: from a statistical standpoint, I think scores scores be calculated to only one decimal place, because all the variables involved (adds, contacts, uniques) are whole numbers. If I'm mistaken in my mathematical thought, please let me know.
So now I have the 21 best Shred30 scores ever, and they're all above 210. I think maybe the list should be limited to the 20 best scores, but there's so much Vasek in there, that top 30 might be more interesting.C-Fan wrote:I think the top 20 scores are already mostly over 210,.

You are ;-] (The dividing by the number of contacts screws things up.)C-Fan wrote:One more note: from a statistical standpoint, I think scores scores be calculated to only one decimal place, because all the variables involved (adds, contacts, uniques) are whole numbers.
