Love this video. Funny stuff from you, Matt. This video, in my opinion, is helping our sport is some ways. Some of the reason I play footbag, is because I saw it as something that you don't have to take TOO seriously, such as other sports like footballs, baseballs, and basketballs (don't get me wrong, I DO take footbag seriously in the sense that it is THE number one activity in my life). I feel like it's all about fun, and that's what motivates me to keep playing. Fun and personal improvements. This video brings both of those to light.
Edit: Deleted comment about Sunil, since this is probably a troll situation.
Matt, I already had a lot of respect for you for using such an unorthodox style in your game, but I've gained even more for you for trying to display the fun side of our sport in this video. More videos should be like this.
People don't want to be taught by a drill sergeant. Everyone needs a good laugh every now and again.
Great job on the shred, Matt. Never thought I'd see such a funny facial expression after someone hit Food
And Ben, awesome filming on your part. I liked the camera angels and editing was great too.
Looking forward to having both of you guys to PA Jam in a few weeks.

1. Camera looks great, image quality is great. Looking forward to future footbag vids from you. Too bad you didn't make Vegas Jam, cause it'd have been sick to see gatesman footage shot with this.
2. I didn't find the video to be my cup of humor, but I appreciated that it was something new and different.
3. I wouldn't recommend people learn blender downtime. Eventually it's good to be able to hit it up/down/mid time, but I think the hardest of the three, and the hardest to learn of the three, is downtime. I'd recommend learning it midtime, and then when that motion becomes natural, then start working on getting it downtime. But then, I suck at blender, so what do I know.
4. I'm skeptical that that post is actually from Sunil. He's a busy guy, and he's not that involved in the scene anymore. He was never involved in the modified scene. I'd be surprised if he really took the time to check modified, watch that video, and feel sufficiently motivated to register for modified just to make that one post. In the past I've seen similar shenanigans, where a troll signs up to make an anonymous critical post against somebody, and claims to be an old footbagger who has little chance of actually checking the site to see somebody is impersonating them. This happened to me a couple years back, when somebody posted as Paul Munger just to say that I was "the worst thing that ever happened to footbag." Pretty similar MO, now that I think about it. So yeah, this smells like troll to me.
5. More people should do blenders. More people should make videos. I hope Matt and Ben do both.

I understand that, however I think there's a real danger of people watching authoritative trick tip videos and then learning to hit the moves badly. From my own experiences I remember spending hours trying to hit ripwalk in a deliberately slurry manner because I thought that's how you were supposed to do it. Reading the comments, there are people here saying they learnt to hit blender from this video. I think the fact that the video is so well produced actually makes this problem worse, because it makes it appear more credible.mc wrote:ya, re: Jeremy and Jorden
I've been meaning to say - take this thing with a grain of salt. It was not planned or well thought out in any way.
We made it as a silly joke. I'm glad to see that some of you are enjoying it as that.
Regarding Tsunami's comment - mods should at least do an IP check on that. Those kinds of hyperbolic statements are pretty useless anyway, although common, especially on this forum.
