not the first ever 3D-Footbag-Video

Post by justin41 » 15 May 2010 02:26

is a net clip.

its been shot on 2 Kodak HD Cams aligned on a self-made tripod in 720p@60fps.

the link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4OGsHXcIpc

but for modified i have also made a very short FS clip showing off my fantastik freestyle skills ;)

you will need to watch on youtube directly to see the 3d-version as the 3d-player cannot be embedded!

you will need some 3D goggles, like those good old red/cyan ones from back in the days. but the youtube3dplayer also supports other methods.
Best practice for now seems to be "HD720p" and "red/cyan B&W". Of course quality doesn't match my ~2GB version in 2560*720/60fps but its enough to get an impression what a 3d-footbag-video could look like.

its just roughly cut and no proper editing at all. I´d also like to point out that this was really the first trial on the camera setup and given that, i'm quite impressed with the result. the footage is nothing special though, just a no-warmup-kick on a not-so-cold spring day.

Now that i know how to handle the post-production, i'm looking forward to shoot some nice footage in brussels.

cheers, justin

WOW justin!!! awesome stuff!

for those who do not have 3d goggles, you can look at the video embedded here on the page and cross your eyes until the images overlap (like with a "Magic Eye" poster). you will then see three different Justins, and the one in the middle is the 3d one.
BRICK!

Sweet vid Justin!

edit: I actually wrote the following post before watching your video, but both give 3d values with different approaches

I think Kevin Regamy made one of Byrin hitting vortex. He's never released it though. Basically, Byrin had to hit vortex about 200 times starting in the same location and Kevin filmed it from several surrounding locations in which the camera turns in a 360 viewpoint while byrin is hitting the trick.

Hell yea! Cool stuff man. I didn't have goggles but like matt said, crossing your eyes like the magic eye trick works great and let's you see the 3d action. Can't wait to see more!

Nice clip Justin!
The effect is really nice. Hopefully i have the 3d glasses.

Just a note: We did a 3d footbag clip back in 2006.
It was for commercial show, for big beer company so i couldnt share it.
We captured footage in bluebox.
Anyway, it was shown on 3 combined huge projectors on big conference,
just before our live show.
