Day 24 - German Footbag Open

Thanks to Paweł Rożek, action from the German Footbag Open. Lot of players that we haven't seen in a long while going for some big tricks. So many competitions lately, great to see.

This is the last day of the calendar, thanks to everyone for their submissions, thanks to everyone that watched.

One more bonus track

Zach Forth and Take Me On Cat Cafe

Here's what he had to say on it

-Thank you to my wife and small family for their unfathomable patience.
-Thank you to Happy and Josh, my loyal patrons. @zach4thlife on s/m
- A big thank you to Daniel Boyle for hosting The Joulukalenteri/Christmas/Advent calendar this year.
-Thank you to the players patiently waiting for their glow footbag orders.
This is my gift to the community. You are all so special to me.
Edit/Thoughts/Details:
Created with PowerDirector Adobe After Effects and Restyle App
The inspiration for this edit is from the nostalgic song/music video "Take On Me" by A-ha, 1985, the music video involves uniquely hand-drawn rotoscoping animation(a process in which you trace Standard 24 film in 12 frames per second opposed to 24, and the 12 frames are just doubled). Needless to say, footbag looks better played at full speed.
The editing cues are from the music video, If you put them side by side, 80% of it should line up fairly close with the hand-animated scenes.
This process took 240 hours.
Most of my edits are 10 to 30-second videos. They take from 2 to 20-hours, which value does not correlate for likes. This Christmas calender video was an insane amount of work. Starting November 24th, cramming 12hr+ days, working all hours of the night (longest stretch 72 hours and bottomless coffee). On the Dec 20th, at 3:00 a.m., I hit render and the footbag color/player layers were off on nearly 60% of my keyframed work. 😕 My organized timeline became nearly unrecognizable.
I used AI for the animated blips. Traditionally, images/characters would be slowly cut out using a different tool, whereas, now the industry uses an auto selecting tool. The AI character replacement programs I used cannot separate a character foreground/background to give you a Clean Plate. Sadly interestingly, when a person's legs are doing crossbody movements, the the AI can get confused and thinks Clipper Stall is someone doing the Charleston. Preemptively, to prevent the confusion, I drew out the legs and players buttocks with transparent lines, distinguishing between the front and back of a person. I had issues with all the separate layers - the tracking and remapping. Not tracking/stabilizing/centering the characters at the start, results in huge time loss.
This video was a lot of work, thinking of executing my vision got me through it.
Please enjoy.
Personal new 'bar' set/magnum
