Workshops at Worlds
I hope this will be a succes. So I can try these at worlds next year.Jorden wrote: 2. Basic Creativity

And Moshers stitching workshop.
Creativity workshop with Jorden Moir and Jakob Wagner.
Suggestions:
You could maybe ask Schneider about a Dragon workshop, I know not everybody can learn it. But for those who can he can probably give some tips to make it easier.
A workshop on footbag videos - Maybe not editing but filming and planning. Sam and Ellis maybe?
Jon S said Dragon is very awkward to do, JUST LIKE CLIPPER was extremely awkward to do when you were first learning it. you mostly just have to get over the awkwardness and just school it.... in my own words, but basically what he said to us. also, he said make sure the dragon stall is flat, like when your toe stall is flat, or a clipper is flat, your dragon needs to be flat, so angle your lower leg to make the dragon flat and also crank your dragon to get it flat as well.
there is your workshop. and Jon Represents excellence in footbag.

Jorden came up to me at one point and confirmed that I was into holding a workshop. We discussed how long it would take and what was required.
I was prepared to do my workshop, they just didn't happen.
I think it was probably a matter of failing to let anyone know about them.
I am sure lots of people would have signed up if there was a place to sign up.

Other, more "essential" parts of the schedule were also often changed by an hour here and an hour there. If I recall, we talked about workshops as likely taking place at 7:00 pm the next night, but when 7:00 pm rolled around that next night we were still engaged with other competitive events instead. It may have been Best Combo, or it might have been a latter round of Circle, but in any case, workshop plans were very loose and seemed to get prempted by events who's plans were a little less loose. I was pretty curious to hear what Jorden had to say about creativity and trick-invention, etc, but he asked me to do a work-shop on Unusual Surfaces just that night before, and I didn't really want to but he talked me into it, and I still don't really know what I would have said and done in the workshop. I do lots of unusual surfaces, but I am not a master of technique, and not very good at comprehending how other people move, and everybody moves differently, and my own method for learning tricks is simply to do them alot and have patience. Also, I don't remember saying half that stuff to HXC, and it doesn't sound exactly like what I would suggest (for instance, my clipper isn't really flat...), though I'm really not even sure anymore...

I would pay for DVD versions of these lessons if they existed.

I am thinking of getting some help from some experts and putting together a "how to throw a footbag event" workshop. We could give a brief tutorial and then share best practices from people who have experience throwing events. So if there is a backburner list for Worlds 2008 workshops, let's add that.
Thanks Zeb. On Saturday I couldn't even WALK let alone shred, so I just taught other people how to shred! I actually really enjoy teaching, so thanks to those who stopped by.Zeb Jackson wrote:kevin regamey spent a good 2 or 3 hours total helping people out at worlds
