Funtastiks 2008 - Harrisburg, PA - Labor Day Weekend

Post by david » 14 Aug 2008 10:52

As always, the Funtastik Summer Classic will be Labor Day Weekend. I know I'm going, and I imagine Bevier will too. What other freestylers are planning on making the trip?

Still trying to see if I can get there. If I can ride up with someone I am interested, but things are looking dire.

I've never been to one. Always been a goal of mine. I work weekends. But I'll see what I can do. Maybe I can opt for getting Sunday off and I can be there sunday and monday. I'll let this thread know.

There have been talks that this may be the last Funtastiks Summer Classic, so if you're planning to attend a Funtastiks any day in your footbag career, this is the one. Let's blow it up! :P

Funtastik Summer Classic, thankfully, will happen this year. This will, sadly, probably be the last. It almost didn't happen this year, but because a few KEY east coast people are being inducted into the hall of fame here this year it will happen. We seriously need to make this a party for all times, as Funtastik has been consistenly the biggest east coast footbag event, and one of the longest running events in footbag. It is the end of an era.
I will be there....this will be my last east coast footbag event appearance for probably a very long time. I'll be moving to California immediately after the tournament.... I hope to party with all my friends that weekend. Let's do it up right.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. I have to work that weekend because it's when all the little freshmen move into the dorms :(
If I can get somebody to cover me, I MIGHT be able to come in the afternoon on Sunday into Monday, but at this point I don't know if that's going to happen.

I have not heard back from my one prospective ride, so I will most likely not be coming. If anyone is passing by the Pittsburgh area or if there is any room available (as I missed the 8/15/08 price-deduction-deadline waiting to hear back) I may reconsider.

If I was rolling in cash I would be there no matter what.

WD, I did the moe down a bunch of years instead of Funtastiks, and it was good times. I think it was the first year of moe. I was the only footbag player there, and they had me up in front of the side stage jamming with a mandolin group. But, you should do Funtastiks if it's the last one.

That said, I can't go. I haven't been in a few years (after having been there each year for many years) and I'll be on vacation in my home town. It's a fun event, although I'd say hotel shred afterwards is even better than the rest of it! Joe and Brenda are awesome.
