Exciting! Thanks for organizing this again Red. The fact that there is a US championships makes the sport look more legit, and can help people get sponsorships.

One question: I know the Berlin Worlds planners are already recruiting qualified judges for Worlds. As a competitor and a judge, I know that few things can discourage players or make a tournament look worse than having unqualified judges screw up results. People who have never attended an event before, much less received IFPA judging training, should not be judging finals.

Are you taking similar efforts to the Worlds planning crew this year?

Thanks Ken,
Much appreciated for the kind words, many thanks for making it out last year and helping out with the event. I am in total agreement about finding qualified judges for these large events, it certainly has been an issue to me over the years, finding people who are not only qualified but willing to be involved. One of my first objectives after securing our relationship with Nautilus and announcing the event was to put the word out there and check around in regards to judging at the US Open. It is early still as far as confirming who will be at the event, but with the people at the moment I know are attending, I am carefully considering for judging. Thanks for bringing it up, it is an important issue for really any tournament. If anyone is interested in being a judge (mainly for Routines and Circle), please feel free to contact me privately and we can interact. Much appreciated to everyone for the interest!

I am hoping to be in attendance. I'm looking at getting a round the world ticket, including stops at the US Open and Worlds.

So my brothers wedding is the same weekend as US Open! He's been planning it a year in advance and I'm supposed to be in it. So I can't make it this year. I can't believe I'm gonna miss my favorite tournament but I already told him I'd go.

Scott your #1 already! last years judging was rigged we all know your the US champ :P
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.
