Hello Modifieders : ) Been a while since I have been on, but wanted to say three cheers to Zeb Jackson and John Stalberger for taking on this event. For years we have had the honor of hosting the US Open in Portland, and now are happy to see it expand to another location. This is as official as it gets, Sole Purpose/Fourkast will be in attendance be helping with the event. On a personal note I am happy to see next gen organizers like Zeb take the torch, as well as old friends like Mr. Stalberger continue to stay involved. This event will crown the US Champion for freestyle footbag, I encourage everyone to check it out if you haven't been to a US Open/Boise, or simply love the sport. It should be a great time!
Cheers and see you there,
Red

Very interested.

Why is there comp on a Friday, and none on Sunday? I feel like that forces people to take an extra day off from work/school.

Let me clear up some of the questions regarding the dates and the times.

The event itself is centered around a 1 day event that happens on saturday (meridian sports, fitness and art festival). So we wanted to have players perform for their finals on that saturday. As for the dates themselves, the 1 day event (which we really want the us open to be involved with) was planned WELL before worlds in Helsinki was announced so there really isnt much leniency for change. It was a tough decision to make the event a thursday-friday-saturday event, but all in all i think players will be pleasantly surprised with what we here in Boise are coming up with. Ill be happy to answer any other questions and concerns if you have them!

thanks,

There will also be crash space at the Genz house for about 8-10, or tent space in the backyard! For those who have never been here, you will love Boise!

Good to hear guys :)
Fees for the 2011 US Open Footbag Championships have been determines and are as follows:

 $45 for Open ($40 without a shirt)
 $25 for Intermediate ($20 without a shirt)

the registration fee may seem kind of steep but this event will be WELL worth it i promise you that. To quote John on the event,
John Stalberger wrote:"We want to set a standard for the way events should be ran."

So, does that mean the meridian sports, fitness and art festival is also being moved? Or is the US Open now happening independent of it? If it is independent of it, do finals still need to happen on Saturday?

yes the festival was also moved to that date. A lot of radio stations in our area want to be involved in the festival, and the previous week didnt work for them. John agreed to move the festival to a week later so that we could include the involvement of those radio stations. The event is now a 2 day event, but the majority of the people attending will be on saturday, and because of this reason John wants finals on saturday. hope that answers your questions :)
