East Coast Footbag Championships 2011

Post by Outsider » 14 Aug 2011 15:47

Good news everybody!

The 2011 East Coast Footbag Championships is on, and we're bringing the ECFC back to New Jersey after more than a decade down in the Washington DC area.

The ECFC 2011 will be in New Brunswick, New Jersey on September 24 and 25 in Buccleuch (pronounced "BUCK-lew") Park next to Rutgers University.

Not all details are worked-out yet. We will update soon with info about lodging and tournament entree fees, etc...

For now, you can expect the usual footbag freestyle and net events.

http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1313351184

Contact me or Jim Hankins. We will update on www.footbag.org and here as we work-out more specifics, but the dates and location are pretty solid.

Shout-out of you're coming!

Two consecutive east coast events I can't attend because of various conflicts. I'll either be in NYC or Ontario for school-related stuff.

Ian: I've still got your jersey, if you're around NYC that weekend, hopefully we can figure out a way to get it to you.

Doug: another option is to take the Amtrak down to NYC and drive out with the NYFers

Everybody: looks like I'm back in the trophy making business again :) 8O :)

Bruce- I've been sooooo busy...

I owe you $ for the Jersey, and beer/dinner for the delay. Sorry for that. If I am not in NYC to kick in the next couple of weeks I will be there for work. I'll sort this out.

does anyone have any crash space for me? It would be greatly appreciated!

Hell yeah. I like... Live RIGHT IN the East Coast! In fact, PA and NJ are freaking connected! How convenient is that? I'm at Penn State University this semester, but I'll try to get my ass down there along with Nate Pipenburg and our other crew member, Stefan.

I think I'll look into this. It's the weekend right after my birthday.

If I were looking to fly, which airport is best?

Tough question --- if you were flying in from somewhere far away, I'd say Newark-Liberty International Airport for sure, BUT, flying in from up-state New York? That is a much shorter flight than I have much experience with... I don't know what airport is best for "regional" flights. I did once fly for Newark Airport to Harrisburg for my first Funtastiks, but that was 13 or 14 years ago...

You could fly or take a bus or train to New York City, and then New Brunswick NJ is a fairly easy train-ride from Penn Station New York. There is also a direct train line between Newark Airport and New Brunswick, NJ -- it is actually the same train-line that runs from Penn Station New York City to New Brunswick NJ -- the "NorthEast Corridor" line of New Jersey Transit...

My only real hangup to this is school but if the dolercoaster is down to pick me up in NYC theres a very good chance I could make it down.
