hello everyone!

I've decided to school my flipside once a week! So I want to practice the following concepts:
- stepping
- whirl
- down double
- SPINS
- swirls

These are all on my flip side. I'm pretty good at those moves on my good side but they are virtually non-existant on my flip. here's a rough idea of how bad each concept is:

- stepping: I have never done sidewalk x 2 on my flips side. I just barely managed to pull off 4 ripwalks last training session and I was SUPER STOKED about it. I have never hit blurrier or stepping same whirl on my flip side. I will not even ATTEMPT anything with a duck after a step flipside!

- whirl: I can link 6x whirl on my flipside. And I've done 5x pdx whirl. I still feel really shaky about it. never done flip tomahawk and have just recently been doing ps whirl > ps whirl. Never stepped out of it I think.

- down doubles: never hit down double down or double over down flip side. Been doing barlfies recently but it's still uber shaky. STepping out of one seems unreachable

- SPINS: my flip spin is so bad it's laughable. Most of the time I lose my balance and come close to falling. 2x spinning clipper i'd be stoked with.

- swirls: I don't get reverse swirl. AT ALL. on my flip side. I can do small swirls sometimes and have just started hitting symple swirls. I can hit flip whirling swirl on occasion.

Ok, so if people have some EASY (by easy, I mean something that I COULD hit) drills/challenges, I'd be happy to give them a try.
I'll take a look at big trick/combo requests too!

Considering what you say about your stepping I don't know how you'd find this but:

blurry whirl>spinning clipper repeat - try to seal the drill with ripwalk too!

yes Jeremy that's a good idea.
I'll try ripwalk > spinning clipper [repeat]

but WHEN I hit a flip spinning clipper, it's not only a rare occasion, but I'm soooo off balance that there is absolutly NO WAY I can ever step out of it...
But this wednesday (practice day) I'll school flip spins till I can flip step out of one! THAT's a good challenge!

Please hit my dream move: whirlygig swirl

haha funny you should mention that... since I'm slowly getting back into stepping I thought I was planning on hitting whirlygig and blurry whirling swirl... If I can set high enough it should be possible to hit.. but it'll take a while for my flip steps to get that high...

Am leaving work in 15/30 mins and off to shred. Hvan't kicked since last friday due to work and a knee I wanted to rest.

So tonight I shall attemp:
flip ripwalk > spin > ripwalk > flip spin
flip blurry whirl [havn't hit that in a long time]
flip stepping far swirl
flip whirlygig
flip sidewalk x2
flip stepping ss whirl
lots of flip spins
flip whirl > flip ripwalk.

and I'll hit this too: symple far swirl x2

ok didn't hit many challenges but am really happy nonethe less:

I drilled my non-existant flip stepping set yesterday and hit some new stuff..
Nothing big, but it's just flipside. And I'm the most onesided player I know!

whirl > ripwalk BSOS
pdx whirl > ripwalk BSOS
ripwalk > blurry whirl BS
parwalk > stepping same mirage x3

blurry whirl > blurry whirl

ripwalk > torque > ripwalk !!

and got very very close to

torque > stepping same whirl

and had vortex > double spinning osis on my foot a couple of times.

Atomic whirling swirl : yeah probably, if you can atomic and whirling swirl!
as for pixie ducking whirling swirl, I'm thinking it'll be easier symposium. But yes, def. doable.

Wow! Time we revived this thread.

Here are a few ideas Max:

paradon>flurry>plo (repeat)

If you are still working on that flip stepping:

side>rip (repeat as many times as you want :) )

Bearing that flip spin in mind (and the fact that you like osis>backspin):

osis>spinning butterfly (repeat)

How's that for ya?

Shit you excavated this thread!!
wow.

Er yeah I don't really do that many sets anymore. I'm way more into the spins /ducks /dives / inspins at the moment.

paradon>flurry>plo (repeat)

can't flurry erither side. Still have no clue as to why.

osis>spinning butterfly (repeat)

yeah I'll do that. I don't do many spinning butterflies but I should be able to pull this off.

cheers

cool idea Tom.

I'll try it and get back to you with either:

- "No possible way on earth" or
- "incredibly hard but give me a couple of years"

I know whirling symp reverse rev up would be easier.

And?

I think you hit this challenge last time you visited Brussels, but I'm not sure:

vortex>blurry whirl
or
mobius>blurry whirl

Stepping out of a spin looks so dynamic! I'm afraid you'll tell me to piss off with my steps shortly though. :) [/quote]

haha, no I'll probably hit vortex > blurry whirl. I can step out of vortex pretty easily. I have never stepped out of mobius before though.. I've tried...

What about

-ripstein>whirr>paradox (symposium if you like) eggbeater
-hit abovementioned sick03 when we kick next week

Yes, that's a subtle proposal. Will get back in the 'il fait plus ou moins beau. Kick ce soir?'-thread on the bfc forum with more info

wow, talk about digging out a topic from the grave!!

whirr > ripstein?? I've been trying that for a while, still no go. ripstein > pdx egg? I don't think I've even hit anything out of ripstein except for osis. Although, granted, I could try!

I will give these a go next session.

Actually the challenge was ripstein>whirr, but arguably inverting the tricks is not a bad id :) especially if you are to hit anything out of ripstein, ps egg is a better option than whirr...!

GO!
