Evangelion, the three Adult Swim plays (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, and to a lesser extent Inuyasha (the first two are much better, imo)). As for movies, some of the best I've seen are Akira, Princess Mononoke, and Rahxephon.
edit: duh, my favorite one! Ghost in the Shell - including both the movie, GitS2, and the series. All of these are fantastic.

Dokonjo Gaeru. Only anime series worth watching. Hopefully someday it will be available with English subs.
Also, slightly out of bounds, the often forgotten Japanese live action Spiderman series. Toei recently released a DVD set, but sadly without subs. Language, the scourge of filmgoers around the world.

I saw that if your talking about something not animie. Did you watch Xena Warrior Princess final which was like based on that?Erik Chan wrote:
Did anybody ever see A Chinese Ghost Story?
Havent seen much animie. Dont have broad band, cant afford to buy them and been to lazy to rent them. Still like what I have seen: Initial D, Rurouni Kenshin, Ninja Scroll, Naruto and some others I cant think of.

I think its even shorter ..only 6. This is one of my alltime favourites EVER! Originallity, flow, plot and characters in this anime just were GREAT! It was like the authors throw any idea they could come up with into the anime and were such pros at improvising AND STILL were able to keep it very very original.CIC flurry wrote:Hey Matt! I've seen this; it's titties. It's only like 8 episodes long right?Matt Cross wrote:Furi Kuri, or FLCL.

so .."My favourites":
FLCL (fooly cooly, furi kuri, puri puri, piri piri^^)
The girl who leaped through time
Hajime no Ippo (this is a really great series the flow of the anime is just perfect.. none of that delaying shit to make more episodes out of something that can be done in 1 or 2 eps.. also the characters in this are absolutely fantasticly funny and this anime will give those that might have lived ill treated the will to stand up for themselves and to accomplish any goal you put your mind to, very inspiring)
Naruto (obvious because of my avatar!!!)
Bleach
Hunter X Hunter (very sad how this anime has stopped and no more OVAs are coming out.. but as always the god damn manga is still moving on)
Samurai Champloo (sorry to say this but this anime in the first few episodes blew my mind especially the first ep but after that it takes a slow downfall to style and originallity)
Full Metal Alchemist (this anime is the absolute bomb, so sick partly and with sick I mean you don't want your children watching this even if it looks like one of those usually cartoons, at one stage of this movie a scientist actually uses his daughter for an experiment knowing that it would be a sacrifice *ouch*, the movie is also very good but you have to have watched the complete series to actually really be able to enjoy it)
Tokyo Tribe 2 (very hiphop/rap related)
Hikaru no Go (made me start playing Go)
Prince of Tennis (made me go to the tenniscourt a few times)
Death Note (i love antagonist centered stuff)
Ichi the killer (anime and the real live movie are sort of classics to me
One Piece (I love pirates)
...
...I can probably think of some more than blew my mind when i watched it but i think those would be my absolute favourites.
