shot from shotgun shells

Post by johnl583 » 09 Dec 2006 11:59

To take out shot from shells, do you just get a knife and cut it and pour out the shot? This is the only way i can get shot cuz my dad think getting a 10lb bag of shot is too much and i would never finish it.

i would have to say yes, if that is the only way you can get shot.

i used to take a knife and use the knife to prop open the bottom of the shell, that used to work pretty good for me. :)

no problem, i have also found that the smaller the shot is the shells the better for a footbag it is...;)

if i remember right the smallest was in a 4-10 shell

Well the closest store is Dick's, and they sell shells but not a bag of shots, and my dad also doesn't want to drive to Bass Pro shop which takes like 45 mins to just get a bag of shot.

Well, my dad won't let me get shot off the internet cuz of the high shipping.

Do you have any gun shops near you?

Some of them sell loose shot...

you can get a 25 lb bag of loose lead shot at bass pro shop for $30.

itll make a bunch of bags.

and if youre worried about not being able to finish the entire bag then im sure you could sell some shot on modified by the lb. depending on what size shot it is i would buy some.

there's definitely nothing dangerous about opening up shells as long as you dont tap the firing pin (the metal part.)

yeah i opened up a couple boxes of shells for my size 8 1/2 and 9 shot.

i used a screwdriver and popped open the folded top part. its not dangerous if you aren't an idiot :)

just playin, anyways yeah dont slam the firing pin on stuff intentionally, and you wont blow your own face off.

I bought a couple boxes of shotgun shells at wallmart- it will say the size of the shot right on the box.

LMFAO
What do you mean about popping open the folded part?
Did you just stab it to make a hole?
How many shots are there per shell?
Can you just get a knife and cut across the plastic?

My dad just bites the tip (where it's folded in, with all the creases) until there's a hole, and it pours out easily.

I just use a knife about a half an inch away from the creases, on the side. Do it over a bowl of some sort.
