Do forum Arguments Carry over at tournies?

I've been to plenty of events and I've never seen any sort of bickering amongst people. I take that back, I have, but it's never been because of this forum. I'd just laugh if I saw that... There are lots of different type of arguments you see...Legitimate arguements, heated debates, and then there are the negative ones. Usually people just need not to take offense to things so easily or act a bit more mature. Anyways, I'm rambling, I need to do some training so I can beat up some footbaggers at new years jam.

There is a big difference between being a jackass online and a great person in real life- and being a sincerely offensive person online and being nice in real life.

The fact is, if you personally insult people, have no regard for peoples experiences/feelings/backgrounds, and go out of your way to provoke arguments on the internet because you find it "funny" and you "dont care", then no matter what you say to the effect of "oh im cool IRL but the internet is different", then in my humble opinion you are an immense asshole and you will not be my friend in real life or on a forum.

Like somebody said above, if you use this forum to push the limits of arguing and trying to make people mad for your entertainment, then you are in the wrong place. This is a forum to bring footbaggers from all over the world together, not to spend the majority of your day being a troll and building internet penis size and arguing over stupid bullshit because it entertains your pathetic self.

The bottomline is each and every one of our names is in our signatures, and thus we are representing ourselves in every post. People WILL associate you with what you do and say no matter if its on the internet or on TV or even in a converstion. We arent actors in a movie who can dissassociate ourselves from our personas on the big screen. Modified is not a place for you to satiate the sadistic desires you have and get a free pass because "its the internet". Be fucking kind. Like Jamieson said above, modified is a great place to create and maintain positive relationships with people who share the same interest in this obscure sport as you do!

The best footbaggers in the world do not spend time on modified arguing with people. In fact, I'd say the hugest percentage of drama on this forum is started by people who pretty much suck at footbag, and are here instead for other (much more sad) reasons. It's fine to be a cynic, and maybe not to entertain stupid bullshit posts, but you are representing yourself, and if you expect people to forget personal insults and drawn out bickering when they meet you in real life, prepare for dissapointment.

I dont fear any tourneys, because I haven't made any enemies, and am ALWAYS, ALWAYS down to meet new people and create new friendships (especially over footbag!) Hell, even Chris Miller and I would probably get along great in real life, a good circle and maybe a couple of beers and im sure we'd have plenty to laugh about- ahhahaha. Anyways im probly off track now, peace everyone=-

i could call all ya'll shit heads and ass holes online, but i would never do it in real life because on the internet you cant get kicked in the balls

but really, if i ever come off offensive on hear, i dont mean it, promise.

and to answer the threads discussion, i think that these things are discussed at turnies, just no one is actually yelling at each other because you figure out how ridiculously stupid you both are for arguing it.

Not that I'm good, lol. I'm garbage. I think the best i can hit is back to back ripwalk or maybe a pendilum set torque... I don't know which is harder. I do it in pants though, havn't had a chance to play in shorts since... ... a fishing trip about 7 months ago... Yea, 7 months ago about 30miles south of the beginning of the mississippi river. Played for a whole week because I don't like fishing, so I just stayed at teh cabin with my friend Tamaran.

I don't think I could go to a tourny. I'd probably blow up in a furious jealous rage at the simple fact that not only can I not do an Atomic set... anything, but I especially can't do an Atomic set mirage... which looks really cool despite it's simplicity.

this post wasnt directed at you, although im assuming thats what you thought was the case since you just spent a paragraph defending yourself.

anyways im in the same boat as Tsiangkun here... if i dont like somebody, i wont be around them, thats pretty much all there is to it. I don't like being forced to tolerate assholes, so i wont let that happen. Competition is different, how many competitors actually enjoy the company of their biggest rivals?? Maybe only the most petty arguments, and personal flamings from here should/would carry over to real-time, around tourneys.

Debating the merits of your real arguments, should be worthwhile, if their is ever enough time, in person.

Dang, I suspect it will take to long to continue this post, what I want to say requires to many tweaks and I dont want to waste anymore Sunday on it.
