Amaretta

Post by Nathan » 21 Jan 2007 19:25

Contact this email for Amaretta:

amaretta(at)clarino-am.com

They sell by the yard ( ) with a nice color selection for 23 dollars/yard. Get some friends to buy with you and get stitching. Style numbers KX7400 and KS7400 are good and thin. KS is softer than KX. KX/KS7500 is about as thick as facile.

I am up for a chip in.

But if it does not fall through, I will order some myself, and if you are interested, I could just send it out to you after, at cost.

I was hoping for about 4-6 colours.

Blue (near 350), red (174), black, white, grey.

If people are going to set this up, let me know.

okay so does somebody wanna set up this amaretta order? (middleman)

ill do it if no one else will, but if someone else has the time, id rather them do it. im pretty busy, but i really want this to happen is basically what im saying.

so six colors split between six people should be 23$ each... if they are 23$... tax, shipping... something like 28-30$ each should get everyones order to them safely (like bubble mailer, with standard shipping)

I've already set myself up getting some with a few friends. It shouldn't be a problem for everyone else who has responded here to make another order. Hope it works out for everyone.

I'm willing to chip in $30 as well, but I don't have a specific array of colors that I would like to have. Probably colors close to primary and secondary colors imo. Maybe colors that have good contrasts? I don't know.

I'm going to be busy as well, so I can't be middleman for this. Please PM me, post in my blog, or e-mail me about all of this if I'm in a particular pool and whatever.

To whom ever the middle man will be, I have 30 USD waiting in my pay pal account that I could send over immediately.

How exactly would you all like this to work? One person makes the order, and asks the distributor to cut each yard in to 5 or 6 equal pieces, receives the order, then ships it out to all involved? Would everyone else first send this person some coin so that they can pay for the material and shipping?

I really, really would like this to go through.

EDIT:
Spoiler: this thread puts everyone down except for Nathan P. Don't read below unless you want to see how I put you down.

Hold each others' hands while you're all ordering together and think of pretty daffodils and hugs. Apart from Nathan's initial post, this is the silliest thread I've ever read.

You shouldn't be stitching if you can't afford to make a monetary commitment to buying fabric. Call me insensitive.

Look Jeremy, I am sure that, like my self, most of these people CAN invest money into getting fabric on their own, however, a whole yard seems a little much.

I thought that this website, was a footbag COMMUNITY. It seems that people are more interested in being childish and trying to put people down.

BTW you are so funny man, I totally look up to you now.

What's the point in blowing $100 for shit you might not even like Jeremy? I don't really think it's stupid to do this.

Furthermore, I think you would probably say "you should stitch for yourself and not for a business aspect", so wouldn't this align with your ideas? Because if you just want a little bit of fabric you aren't planning on being a business, just making shit for you and your friends.

Shrug.

Dude, if you're gunna sell footbags to other people for their money, you are running a business. And if you are running a business, its time to get a bit fucking professional. There is no professionalism in a 23-way split of fabric. You're just asking to get screwed by someone on this website, who will take either your money or your product. Chances are you will be unhappy. I am warning you. It has happened before. "Who would screw me in a community of friends," you ask? Well, I would. In fact, I have. I don't even mean to do it, but it just happens. Zach Jahner sent me a footbag of his that I made than needed fixing many many many months ago, and I never even stitched it up. I still have it. I just dug it up in fact. I THINK I'll fix it for him, but since I found it 1 week ago, I haven't even thought about it. I don't know when I'll fix it for him. I might just send it back to him. (This is in fact part of the reason I stopped stitching footbags in the first place: its too much responsibility and I had too little motivation to keep to my professional ethics. I decided it was better to stop stitching than taking the chance of screwing over my footbag friends.) I fucked Zach Jahner over, and he is my friend. I didn't want to. I didn't mean to, but it happened. I'd like to take this time to say sorry to Zach, who probably won't even read this thread.

Moving on:
Dave, you present some interesting facts. But you can prove ANYTHING with facts. Lets try to be a bit more opinionated here.

If its 23 dollars a yard, thats fuckin' cheap. You can reasonably split with one or possibly two other people, and you're getting a LOT of fabric for basically DIRT CHEAP. But WTF is this 6-way shit? Coordinating that, in my opinion, is just asking for way more trouble than its worth.

Let's face it Dave, who the hell is going to buy fabric unless they're either 1) stitching footbags to sell to others, or 2) trying to get into the stitching market? Why would Joe Schmoe spend money on a huge amount of fabric he/she can't use? NO ONE is gunna spend 30 bucks on amaretta to stitch a bag or two for themselves when they can buy as little or as much cheap fabric as they want to for 2 dollars at a local fabric shop.
What's the point in blowing $100 for shit you might not even like Jeremy?
And haven't you ever played with a fucking footfighter Dave? Well, why are you acting so unknowing then? Its an amaretta bag dude. You know exactly how its gunna feel and play.
