Old School Tricks

Post by ShredEX » 26 Feb 2007 13:42

Im talking about stuff like crotchstalls-superjesters, scorpion stalls-toestalls
powers(like when you use a hand tap to hit the footbag to your foot giving it more spring)
anyone have anything else to contribute to the list is greatly appreciated also not just the names of the move but a description would be nice aswell since different players/different areas have different names for tricks.
Thanks
Toby

In 7th grade the hackers at my school were King when they did that Move...

I saw an AWESOME trampoline once. I was playing with this REALLY fat hacky slacker kid after a school demo, he was totally into it, having a great time, really digging freestyle. he did

front trampoline > blind back trampoline > right back over his head to inside kick

FIRST TRY EVER! I was stunned. I've never been able to replicate it. We were so psyched when he hit it.

I remember in 7th grade I beat a kid at Horse (or something like it) by doing 3 ss jesters in a row. took me a few years to get pendulum (I was totally mystified by it when nick schultz could do it).

What else... at my Funkix demo in NYC, I was having fun doing monster kick > backspinning op inside kick.

monster delay is an inside delay with the delaying leg / foot wrapped in front of and around to where a clipper would be delayed, but, once again, with the delay foot IN FRONT of the support leg, not behind like clipper.

So, I kicked like that, did a full backspin, and kicked with what was the support leg when I start.

I always heard this refferred to as "headphones"

when you delay on the side of your head (near your ear), toss it straight up, delay on the other side, and repeat.

haha you know when people are picking the bag up off the ground and they like stand over the bag and scoop it through their legs and try to toss it to someone? (which i consider almost an old school concept in of itself...as its a non-typical serve) haha i usually do that and just stuff it basically into my ass crack, then try to drop it into an osis.

I've started throwing in hip hits for fun.

or what some people call the "tornado" --not the actual footbag trick of the same name: do a toe stall. extend your stalling leg w/ the bag on it in front of you. start spinning in circles

I forget who but I saw it in a sick 3 video as the guys last sick 3 and also clearly as a joke he busted what you are calling a tornado with like 3 spins to back/neck stall to pincher.

toby, that would be former world champion Ryan Mulroney.

hip checks are fun, so is temple of doom! I love doing that back and forth lots of times. I can't grab it with my butt, but i can stall on my butt.

Bowler, I don't believe I have hit that trick. i wouldn't quite call that old-school, though. ass set blender is about as new school as it gets, if you ask me. Ass sets are of no school, as far as I know, except yours and mine, pete, and blender isn't exactly what I'd call old school.

I also like that rubber-knee trick where you kick straight out right before the bag hits your knee and it delays it just for a second as you kick, and then pops the bag right back up. Definitely good for doing between shuffle dexes.

haha yeah i agree ass set isnt really old school...didnt see too much of that at like worlds 95 or whatever

i just had a sesh and i should have tried it (ass-blender) but i forgot. so i think i'll give it a few tries now.

always classic is combining legit old school with new school concepts, along the lines of what matt said with the rubber leg knee bump action between shuffle dexes. i like tossing jesters and flying butterfly (and rev. butterfly...aka miraging i guess) kicks after a new school set, like nuke flying butter kick or spinning far jester or whatnot. low adds, high style.
