So there is a Terra Verde shuttle bus? That would be great, because I don't know how I am going to be tranporting my toddler everywhere.

My room is reserved. There is still a possibility that we might need a roommate, if anybody is still interested!

Sole Purpose is going to be there, something like 14-16 of us, across the board (freestyle, net, previous generations). This will be a fun vacation, though I think more than a few in the Portland gang will be helping out with the event. The competition should be quite good; the US and European Champions are going to be crowned less than a week apart, then both go to Orlando to compete (with many other great players) for the World title. I am looking forward to the show.

I am SO PSYCHED!!! I'll be bringing my guitar, and I just bought a melodica to bring as well. for those who don't know, a melodica is a cross between a small keyboard and a harmonica. you blow into a tube and play a keyboard and get that metallic reed harmonica sound out of it, and you can play multiple notes at once.

also, I have been playing some footbag in preparation ;) green earth posse!!!

i like the sound, but not the limited selection of notes on the more simple instruments I've seen. If someone had a really fancy ocarina that could be played chromatically, I'd like to get hold of one of those. here is a picture of my new melodica, coming soon...

I can't wait to rock with it.

Sharing taxi to Terra Verde around 6PM on the 11th

Post by Muffinman » 27 May 2007 18:54

I should be arriving at Orlando airport (is there more than one?) around 6PM. If there is anyone else arriving at the same time, we should share a taxi or something. Especially anyone going to Terra Verde, and especially anyone staying in Johnny Suderman's shred house at Terra Verde.

I got my return flight for $450 (though the trip there will be, like, 10 hours) through Expedia. I think that's a really good price?

I'm trying to book my flight now. I will be getting there the 11th, I think thats normal? and I want to find someone else going to Terra Verde to taxi there with.

One option for me is 4 o clock and I could sit around till 6 for you Erik. Are you getting there the 11th?

I think Johnny said that the house is full, actually. You can talk to him about it though.

WOOOOORLDS!!!!

KevCrow - do some basic math guessing how much money you think you'd need to spend on food and transportation and entertainment per day and then multiply it by how many days you plan to be there. Then add on some more and start with that.

You need someone to room with, maybe it's easiest at this point to find someone to get a terra verde place with.

Party!!!

I'm currently calculating the numbers game with my big sis on my trip there. Anyone flying out from a NYC airport, let me know! I would seriously LOVE to fly down with some footbaggers!

Do I have to show up on 8/11? Like, my dad is paying for this trip (thank god!), and we've already discussed that we're not going for the full week, so is it cool if I get there 3 or 4 days in?

Even though the Anthony Travel site says that the hotel is full, you can still book a hotel if you call Anthony Travel at (800) 736-6377. I called and was able to book a hotel a couple of days ago - and they said that Disney could give them only a handful more rooms to do that with. They made it sound like if a lot of people called requesting a room, they would get more. So yeah, just thought everyone should know.

 Oh and by the way - there is still space for one more person in our room if someone needs a place to stay!!! Its Ben Benulis, John Fanuzzi and I. We're all laid back freestylers. It's a non-smoking room. It would only cost about $17 a night. PM me if you're interested.

I'm not entirely sure where I am staying yet, hotel or at one of the houses, but I've got the money and the complete will in hand to get to worlds, compete, and get my ass kicked. YES!

Every time I play I just think about it. The best part is I have no idea what the worlds atmosphere is like, so my mind can wonder the multiple possibilties.

Anyway, my next question. How does hydration work at worlds? seeing as it is August and in Orlando, should I be prepared to buy a few packs of water for the week?
