CAMP WAKAHAKEE - driving instructions posted!

Post by mosher » 23 Aug 2007 20:48

CAMP WAKAHAKEE!!!!!

Image

So here is the idea, a casual gathering of footbag players at a Greater Toronto Area campground for a weekend of hilarity and shred.

Details

WHEN: Sept. 14 - 16 2007
WHERE: Bronte Creek Campground (Oakville, near me)
WHO: EVERYONE IS INVITED!!!!!!

EVENTS:
- Shred
- informal circle contest
- footbag golf through disc golf course!
- typical campy stuff (smores, fires, beers, frisbee, swimming etc)
- music jamming!

DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS:

- Approaching from east OR west on the QEW (I assume people can find themselves to this point, if not, mapquest it)
- Exit at BRONTE ROAD and go NORTH
- Take Bronte Road up to UPPER MIDDLE Rd and turn LEFT
- This will take you directly to the front gates of the campground where the person who made the reservation must hop out and do some paperwork before heading to your site

Arrive anytime Friday, there will be fun and shred and stuff awaiting you! :)

The event site is at a slightly different location, I will give driving directions for that in person.

Actually, I will post them just incase.

- (from the campsite) go back down to the QEW, take onramp WEST
- Get off at the next exit called BURLOAK Dr and go NORTH
- This will take you to the Bronte Creek Provincial Park day use area on the right.

CAMPSITE RESERVATIONS:

The sites are $32.50/night and can be reserved online or by phone.

I have booked campsite #424, please go ahead and book sites adjacent to mine so we can have a clump of us together!

Here is a map showing where the site I picked is:

Here is a website for the campground full of info:

http://www.ontarioparks.com/English/bron.html

There will be prizes too! I will also be raffling a Mosher off and everyone that comes is elligible.

SO!!! I recognize that this is super late to announce it, but since it's such an informal event and not some big tourny it's okay.

Go book off the weekend and start making your plans to come out for one last killer bash of summer footbag fun!!

Come come come!!!! :D :D

I will also have sweet Camp Wakahakee sweaters and t's for sale too!

hahaha Tom! Camping in Scarborough?! Haha we might as well just do it in my backyard.

That's a joke. Even if you guys wanted to, I couldn't accomodate that many people for a whole weekend.

But I don't care where it is, I'm down!

I am still in Texas, so I have NO idea as to how my work schedule will work out. However, I will try and get the weekend off, and I'll be sure to drag Liam and Gresham along with me.

Awesome idea! Thanks Tom!

I should have room fer ya Matt!

That's if Jay lends me his tent, or if he comes, then still, because he has a HUGE 4 man, I'm sure of it  .
Also I know for a fact that he has a tent that he got for his birthday, which he doesn't like because it's hard to set up. Up for a little labour for sleep?? :P We could jam out all night. I have a WAHAmMAmYamaheoowahhhhhhhh, or Yamaha if you're not extreme, hollow body AEX540, but she be a buzzin' like crazy at ze moment, so I'mmon haif to fix daiit.
I'm not too sure if I want to bring my Stonebridge yet, she's still a baby. we'll see  .

Hmmm, I'm a maybe too, if Mathieu and Ianek are interested I could be too. However I'm not sure if I can take work off again :S. I'll talk to them and see what I can work out with my job.

Edit : corrected few mistakes

YEAH YEAH YEAH!!

It's so cool to see so much enthusiasm and support!

Come one come all!!!!

So I went and checked out Bronte Creek Campground today. I would say that it definitely had more space to shred than the other campground.

So it is decided, we are staying at BRONTE CREEK campground and I will provide really really easy maps for all.

The driving directions are super easy too, so this should be sweet.

There isn't one big awesome shred spot but there are several places that will work AND we have lots and lots of shred mats to set up more sweet spots.

Everyone should bring musical instruments too!!! :D

Woo!! Momentum!! :D
