SET>BACK (SPIN) [BOD]>SAME OUT [DEX]>OP CLIP [XBD][DEL]

This trick is driving me mad, any tips are greatly appreciated.

practice gyro clippers. Then, set a bit higher, and as soon as you set, open up your hips by pointing out the knee on the set leg as you spin. Then, as you do the butterfly, do a bit of a hop forward. that helped me get it. That's the way it looked like Eli Piltz would do it.
BRICK!

gyro legover is a good trick to school if you want to hit gyro butter.

I focus on keeping my knees fairly close together from the set until opening up for that butter.

I'd say work on spinning and gyro clippers as much as you can. Here's a little video I made:

Hope this helps!

Yeah having seen you playing recently, I'd say really school spinning clippers, gyro clippers and infinities. If you find gyro butterfly difficult, I can't imagine there being any other reason than your components for the move are lacking. The same applies to pretty much all multiple component moves.

I think my gyro clippers are the weak link, so I started drilling them today :)

Sweet. I'd try to do them "muted" style. ie. Don't plant the support foot until you do the clipper. It looks cooler and will help with gyro moves more. Also maybe drill muted gyro legover (ie. no plant).
