39 bottles of 'Rinowski's Tripel' (~10%ABV)

Does anyone else brew their own brew? I've made 4 batches and have a Wheat brew in the primary right now.

I saw this thing called Mr.Beer

I'm going to get it for his birthday.

micro micro micro brewery

and apparently it's not considered alcohol because it doesnt come pre-brewed or something like that, so i'm all for it

I brewed beer for a while. All of the cleaning got on my nerves eventually so I stopped.

I do admit- it is a great feeling to drink something you made yourself.

so jealous

i understand everything else but I still don't understand how to bottle your own brew. Is it some kind of expensive machine? Does some independently owned bottling plant do it for you?

Can someone explain this concept?

To bottle it, you first have to put sugar into the wort. The yeast eat the sugar and turn it into C02 inside the bottles.
Basically then you transfer the primed wort into the bottles via a tube, and put a cap on them with some sort of capper. I use a 'wing capper.
It's almost too easy..

We've got a batch in the bottles for a month now... and my mate bought a 60ltr fermenter the other day :D We tried one a couple weeks ago and again last night, it's too fruity but it's mellowing out. hopefully come 3mths time it'll have lost all it's fruityness :D cited

Wow, you've got some patience, letting them age for a month before drinking one! I can hardly wait a week!
For sure, the longer they age, the better they get.

yeah well we tried one after a week and a half, then again at a month. They're stored at my mates place so it makes it a bit easier to hold back... haha.

BUMP

I'm just getting into this and I'm so pumped. I haven't made a batch yet but I will be tomorrow morning. Is anyone else home brewing? If so have you made your own mash or your own recipe? Should you always use Irish moss? I have too many ?s and I don't even know if anyone on here brews. I will post some pics when I finish my first batch.

My cousin and I want to brew our own beer. Are there any websites you guys recommend for info? Any brewing kits you guys recommend?

I want to get all of our facts together before we commit to this.

Thanks Jon. I used to go to beeradvocate a lot. I'll check out their forums. Either way, I'd still like to know how everyone here does things and where they go for info. Any experiences from their first brews and any tips overall.
