The juggling club should be at Clark gym around 6 pm. If you come early, be prepared to wait outside. I am not sure if the gym will be open to the public prior to the juggling club getting there.
Is someone going to bring music? Paul? Chris? DJ Anyone?
So excited!

yeah I'll probably bring my own music. Something really small. Probably only usable for one circle (mine). And it'll probably be turned off as soon as most people get there. It's just I fancy myself being there long before the festivities so I need some music.
I love this blog. It needs to be posted in more like it used to. Used to be one of the bigger names on this page!

GRASS 2009
Listen up RFA. I have some great news for you.
Last Saturday afternooon I received a call from Jeff Peden, an instructor for the RIT Juggling Club. We discussed this year's GRASS/JuggleIn event at great length and a lot of good came out of it. Aside from a few nuances that occured, partly due to a lack of information exchange, the event was a success. Jeff was happy that the footbag and juggling communities were able to share in this event. He is looking forward to next year being bigger and better.
Jeff said he enjoyed working with me and that he looks forward to working with me again next year. That being said, I plan on taking the helm again as the coordinator for GRASS 2009. Next year is going to be significantly bigger and better than this year by far. There will be more than enough work to do so if you consider yourself to be someone interested in spreading footbag awareness throughout Rochester, consider yourself part of the team.
Here are some of the things you can expect at next year's GRASS:
- 50/50 raffles.
- Chinese auction with donated items from local businesses.
- Event programs with paid advertisement spaces.
- Event promotions in Rochester publications such as Freetime magazine.
- Vendor tables to sell footbags and footbag related products.
- Volunteers from the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Julia is the General Advisor.
- Money prises for competitions.
There will be more, a lot more, and the list of possibilities are endless. If you think this seems like a lot of work for such a small group of people, fear not. Jeff suggested that next year we will make this entire event a combined effort. Individually our teams have accomplished a lot, but together we can do so much more.
I am really looking to next year and I hope that you can be a part of it.
Peace.

Today, Jeff forwarded me an email he received from Dan Canavan, the representative for XS Energy Drink. Dan explained that this was the first time he had done something like this and he was very thrilled with the results. He also informed Jeff that he would be available to it again for any future events. Jeff replied to Dan saying that we will be doing this event again next year and that he is welcome.
Bottom line, we have another long-term sponsor.

Remember me? I'm going to be back in Rochester May 17, and I'm looking forward to kicking with the RFA once again! I haven't really played any over the winter, but i'm hoping to get back into it. And I'm going to RIT starting in the fall, so I'll be in rochester full time once i'm back. I'll definitely be interested in any RFA sessions.
See ya!

Warm weather = outdoor shred = public awareness.
In the past a few of us have discussed having a tent sign and flyers to distribute for our public shred sessions. I am able to print 16x20 posters at work. I could get these laminated at any office supply store. And a tent sign frame is simple enough to make and probably cheap to buy.
Let me know if you have any ideas for this. Together we came up with what I have been told was a really logo for the GRASS shirts. I think coming up with a poster for shred sessions should be a breeze.
The next thing for me to do is update the website to be more user friendly. We simply need more information for the general public. Perhaps some quick flash videos showing moves of different levels, and a few good strings from each of us. I have Macromedia Flash 8 so getting video to flash should not be a problem.
Peace.

dude Mike, you're the man. Everything you're doing now is going to seriously affect the RFA and footbag in a positive way. I look forward to whats going to happen in the future.
There's good news all around for the local shred scene. Jeff and Doug are both back! And Jeff's going to RIT! We're gonna have some SERIOUSLY heavy baggage to deal with in the near future. I wonder if Taylor will also be back this summer.
but yo, i have more thoughts on additional steps the RFA can take for this year's outdoor season... i'll bring them to the next session.
Doug? Paul? Mike? will you all be able to play this weekend?

im in but i dont think ill be doing much, if any strong side clipper stuff, my ankle cant handle the sharp up and down movements while cranked yet. it blows.
everything for next year's grass sounds great, definitely keep us all posted on what we can do. it has been my dream to have the two tournaments integrated, and im sure this is going to be the biggest, baddest tournament to hit the east coast. ever.
see you guys this weekend.

Hey guys, sorry for the late notice about not showing up Sunday. May is going to be a busy month for me. The next two weekends I will be out of town. If anyone is down for kicking during the week please let me know.
It has been a long time since anyone has sent any shred updates, so here is a list of some things I have hit recently:
- ducking clip > ripwalk
- weaving clip > ripwalk
- spinning clip > blizzard
- blur > smear > dimwalk
- blizzard > smudge > dimwalk
- toe blur > toe blur
- atom smasher > atom smasher
- pixie same side symposium mirage
- pig beater (pixie eggbeater)
- pixie same side eggbeater
- smog (pixie double legover)
- blizzard > pig beater
Everything was hit both sides.
Peace.
