I've been playing with brian's bags for a while now (at stanford) and just wanted to let everyone know that the shiny strange looking fabric is really nice and is not anything like that nasty leather that it looks like in some of the pictures. In real life it's easy to tell it's not but in some of the pictures it's a bit harder just because of the flash and the fact that you can't pick up and feel the bags at all. Brian let the santa cruz crew have some bags to test so I'll be writing a full review as will abram hopefully after we have had time to fully test them out.

Best bags since Funk bags.

But seriously, these are good. As Dustin said, the pictures are deceiving, and the weird fabric actually plays quite nicely.

Agreed. I don't know why, but that fabric works really well and holds up. Plus the stitching on all of his newer bags is great.

Almost the whole club at Stanford kicks with them.

I was at first kind unsure of the bag because of the fabric. But as soon as I kicked with them they feel perfectly fine, and thats what matters.

Plus I hear if you use these bags, pendulums become easier.

my fabric selection is always expanding :)
and filler testing has proven successful
led size 6 and 8 mix, about 5-10 of copper bbs, along with seed beads for stronger bags, and plastic polypellets for more fragile bags.
more bags on the way for the holiday season!!!

do you think that other microsuedefabric (A) is better for pents or hexes when you want to combine it with ultra suede light?

I'm actually interested in one of those shiny microsuede 32s. I'm a bit fickle on size and filler, though, and I'm swamped with orders at the moment.

Just posting to let you know that we should trade in the future.

Alf: Fabric (A) is better with pents in my opinion, mainly because of the way the stitch looks with thinner fabric as the hexes, as both options play well. Different fabric As are also great to combine with each other, although a little more difficult to sew.
Wasabi: I love your bags, I would definitely be down for a trade in the future and I have lots of filler options and templates for slightly varying sizes.

I take back what i said about the pents and hexes for fabric A, both play really similarly and both can look excellent! I've been on a stitching frenzy again...

These bags are awesome. I recieved mine Thursday of last week and it is already broken in nicely. Although it is on the smaller side and is what I would consider higher gather, it is very stallable. The bag sets perfectly. The filler is quality and suits the bag well. You will not be disappointed with one of these.
